I feel that the nudity in the original piece was perhaps a bit forced, which prompted me to give Lucy a more modest look and tone down the "R" rating
I also readjusted the hue and added dust particle layers to make the scene more grizzly (to give the impression of a war-torn city)
The original piece is still available for comparison.

This is one of the greatest pieces of Elfen Leid artwork on the site, and I don't use that word lightly!

That's just bloody awesome, literally and figuratively!
The style: the coloring, texture, etc. reminds me so much of that game Prototype and just thinking about that puts the destruction into real scale for me. The end of the manga definitely got across the theme that Lucy was launching an all-out attack on the city, but to have a scene set at ground zero up-close-n-personal with all the destruction is a totally different emotion.
I especially love Lucy's face here because it honestly conveys an element of "story". That look of extreme sorrow as opposed to her usual stone-faced or even slasher-smile expressions... it just has that feel that there's more to this picture than just random destruction and an incoming apocalypse. It makes you want to know just what led to this, it adds a layer beneath the visual.
And I'll wrap this up by saying this: scenary porn at its best.
