Description Just thought I would a have a go at something different, I never really tried speed painting before so here is first attempt. I really want to go super detail on this but kinda like the rushed look.
Paint time 3 hours. Ps nicked a city of google and made a brush. Stupid of me really should have done some matt painting with it.

Isn't this is the piece (which is very majestic indeed btw) you most stylishly erased max off the floor and won that bet you made?

3 Hours? Damn man. I'm running out of vocabulary to describe your work.
The sky and rain is so good, the clouds and stuff in the background (You besides the obviouse awesomeness)

Nice work David, composition is well thought out for the subject manner, the stormy style sky is well depicted and again suits the theme you've worked with here. Just a question about your process?
Have you used much in the way of texture overlays on this? Textures are something I haven't really used before ( not out of choice more of lack of understanding until now), do you find them useful to fit into your work process?

Thanks my friend, I was going to do a high detailed paint on this but I thought the composition wasn't spot on so I left it a s a speedy. As for textures I only really use them for making brushes. I have used a few in the past for dirt and grime but not really any more.

Cheers for the reply David, would be interesting to see if you took this image further to a polished painting, time permitting of course

Hey no probs, I normally do a few quick renders and when I'm happy with the composition I go high-res on them.
I was not to happy with this one so left it early, I hate when you spend crap loads of time on a section of your painting then to look at the whole thing and think to yourself
this just dont work. I'm now trying to get more movement in my paintings. Making the image more dynamic is the way to go I think. Helps to sell-yourself as an artist to.

Im taking a break before my next painting got so many ideas just have to pick the right one.

Very true, I've ended up recently having 3 images on the go at the same time because of the amount of ideas you end having and wanting to get down. I need to start perhaps setting time limits of a couple of hours, then picking one to take forward as you have mentioned you do.

Good luck with the next painting, sure it will be spot on
