This picture kinda frightens me - I don't know why beacause I'm usually not frightened by graveyards. Curious...

Well at least it caused a reaction! though i admit fear is not top of my list of emotions to bring out in people
Incidently, i posted a nice sunny landscape of green fields and blue skys a few days ago and some guy commented the picture gave him an 'overwhelming sense of doom' - That really did worry me
Anyway, This is why i like working in IR - the scene looks quite 'ordinary' in real life but when you photograph it in infrared its almost like you shift or sidestep into a different (often spookier ) dimension.

Well, at least you ARE bringing out emotions. I think that is the great thing with pictures that is able to do that. Or inspire one to write.
I can't say I blame the guy for getting an 'overhwelming sense of doom' from a picture like that though I mean, if everything is too nice, something bad is likely to happen? Wait... that's VERY pessimistic of me. Sorry >_<
Have you taken a lot of IR pictures, though?
I can clearly see what you mean by stepping into another dimension. *nods*
Btw, sorry for the late reply :/

This picture is amazingly creepy to me. The tree and the coloring really bring a eerie atmosphere to this graveyard, stunning.

DavidCraigEllis In reply to yanoschick [2010-01-08 22:40:12 +0000 UTC]
This was shot with a IR converted Nikon D80 - no hand colouring - just a basic colour 'channel swap' in photoshop

What a great eye for composition, Dave!!!
This would have been a stunning photo even without IR, but the IR gives it the extra kick,
Great colors, and composition (as already mentioned),
Ingo
