This is the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who as portrayed by David Tennant – one of my absolute favorites.
This piece was created in procreate on an iPad Pro. It languished for months with a plain line drawing before I figured out what I wanted to do with it. I always struggle with posting line drawings. I just never feel like they’re special enough.
I’m ultimately glad I waited. I chose to do the piece in a tried-and-true (some including me say cliche) blue/orange to contrast Ten’s cool demeanor with the fury of the timelord. I also quite liked the way the orange background looks somewhat like regeneration energy–as Ten’s death was always just over his shoulder haunting him.
