Oh and thanks for the WIPs. It's crazy when it shows your finger next to it. Makes me really realise how small the card actually is. It's insane!!!

I was just so wowed by your gallery... I'm a tiny detail junkie myself so.... very impressed! thanks a lot for sharing your art.
Q: Do you blend the watercolor pencils with alcohol on the markers or something like that?

DavidDeb In reply to algodon-de-mora [2010-07-07 01:30:03 +0000 UTC]
yeah actually, the watercolor pigments blend with marker if I need to alter the colors in some spot. I just use the same marker and do-over to blend
I also use colorless markers or pale ones to dilute some parts, like to create skin texture on Jake's avatar
what's important is the overall look doesn't look 'drawn' with white spot associated with regular color pencil
I want to achieve a 'wet' painted look, it's like painting with markers...
sometimes I also use oil painting to enhances like on my recent Joker and Twilight- Garden

Oh I see... amazing and very original technique. I get really bothered by the 'spots' that coloured pencils produce on paper, maybe that's why i went for Markers.

It's only 2.5 X 3.5?!?! Wow. They look absolutely amazing. I thought they would be a larger size, like a movie poster size. They turned out so nice and the coloring is stunning and the lighting is perfect. I can't get over how photo realistic the skin looks. Damn.
