i use them mostly dry as well, but when you pass the marker on them, the pigments get wet and you get a uniform color that look more like painted than drawn actually
you can pass a colorless marker on low value ones depending what you need

Another stunning work - the only *only* suggestion I would make is if you are using paints, maybe thicken it up a bit as the "sketchcard" text and lines of blue are running visibly through the two of them and interrupt an otherwise beautifully draw and flawlessly painted scene
