"Formed in 2001, and hitting Sydney's live metal scene in early 2003, Switchblade have quickly set out to make a name for themselves not only in Sydney, but across the nation. After playing countless local shows, touring to the ACT and Queensland, and also playing their first headline show, (all of which happened in 8 months), this goal looks set to become a reality for the 5 piece metal band... more sooner than later.

The 3 original members of the band, Mat (drums), Andrew (guitar) and Ben (bass), enlisted Sydney screamer, Sway (vocals) in late 2002, and began writing songs to unleash onto the public. The result was the self-recorded and financed 2003 Demo CD "Incoming". A tiny insight to the musical onslaught the band provided, "Incoming" received great reviews locally and abroad, went straight to the top of mp3.com's Sydney metal charts, and received heavy airplay from underground Sydney metal radio stations.

Switchblade hit the Sydney metal scene HARD, playing more than 20 shows in less than 12 months, and earning themselves a reputation as a young band to look out for. In 2004 Switchblade expanded their repertoire even further with the addition of a second guitarist, Scott, which also saw a more technical and intricate style creep into the band's sound. The band moved on to play bigger and better shows, and continued writing songs for the debut album.

Having shared the stage with some of Australia's top metal bands, such as Dungeon, Mortal Sin, Black Majesty, Devolved, Flesh Mechanic, Daysend and many more, Switchblade continue to go from strength to strength, and in 2004 were chosen to support American Metal band MACHINE HEAD on the sold out Sydney leg of their world tour, proving themselves to be one of THE metal bands in Sydney to watch out for.

And with an average age of 21... they've only just started warming up..."
