Description

In my endeavor to hone my 3D skills after a break, I decided to revisit foundational concepts and learn something new at the same time.

As a result, I embarked on a project to create a 3D printable miniature using ZBrush.

Respected artists such as Feng Zhu, Raf Grassetti, Vitaly Bulgarov, among others, constantly emphasize the significance of having strong fundamentals and basics in their work, from which I learn all the time.

So while keeping that in mind, I found and followed a course by Jamie Korte, "Create a 3D Printable Miniature Using ZBrush for Beginners," which I highly recommend for those just starting in the field.

From this project and my previous experiences, I have gleaned several key insights that I would like to share with those just starting in the field of 3D design:

1. Save Regularly:

To avoid losing hours of work due to crashes, saving every 10-15 minutes is recommended. Moving the save button to your custom UI will help with this.

2. Familiarize Yourself with Scale Master Early:

This feature is easy to understand and will allow you to work with your sculptures in the correct scale, especially important for 3D printing purposes.

3. Check the Sculpt Silhouette:

A well-constructed overall form will make it easier for the details to follow naturally.

4. Utilize References:

Personally, I find it enjoyable to create custom alphas from pictures I have taken in nature (such as trees or skin). Keeping your eyes open and seeking out interesting forms, visuals, and concepts will aid in developing your artistic skills.

5. Dedicate Time to Daily Practice:

The amount of time and effort you invest will directly impact your results. While it may be challenging at first, as you continue to progress, you will see an increase in your mastery, learning speed, and working speed.

With this, I conclude this small but valuable project.

I may also choose to 3D print the sculpture and share the results, I'll keep you guys updated. Peace ^^
