Description
From an idea i've been kicking around. I wanted to write and draw a space opera that could be as grand as star wars but whimsical like a miyazaki film yet comedical like an a douglass adams book. So i threw together five individuals and sent them on a voyage through space.

Maria Hernandez has always been in love with science fiction and her favorite program is Mr. Conundrum. A show that's this universes' version of Doctor Who. Maria then finds out the Mr. Conundrum is real (his real name being the travellor) and he has been marooned on earth for 50 years and is ready to go back to space to find his lost memories. She stows away on his rickety self made rocket and ends up on life changing journey through space. Along the way they pick up a few hitchhikers and get into all manners of trouble through the amazing and often perilous reaches of space.

Short character sypnosis:

Maria is a cashier for a cruddy dvd resale store. She lives life without direction and without much to look forward to. She yearns for more but college didn't work out and opportunities are few. Maria has an optimism that is unmatched which allows her to transcend her rather dull existence and comes in handy with the dangerous escapades she gets into. But it's her willingness to make friends which allows her to survive the harshness of space. It is in this journey Maria finds a purpose in life and people to belong to.

The Travellor is a mystery to everyone. Not human or alien, possibly both. Like his onscreen persona he is a bonafide thinking man's hero who tangles with the dangerous unknown with gusto. Despite his carefree demeanor lies a man who is afraid of getting attached to people. People always leave in the end he thinks. But he can't help himself. He has a great capacity for kindness. Which is why he is always willing to help those in need.

Cog 388 is a clone officer of the knybellian federation (think star trek). The last survivor of a furious space battle who struggles to get back home. He has little patience for anything, extremely uptight, and generally a grump. Worst of all is his tendency to blow stuff up. But he still has a kernel of decency and learns to care for others.

Ry-nold is a wide eyed young man who moved away from home to finally achieve his dream of finding the last of the Guild (basically the green lanterns) to become a member himself. He has a determination seldom seen among people which have allowed him to endure hardship after hardship which clashes with his timidness.

The group travels around in a crappy ship called the S.S. crumbly. Passing through an electrical storm gave their ship sentience and a personality modeled after an interstellar pop star. It's weird. But the travellor creates a hologram for the ship's avatar which flies around in a saucer thing and argues with Cog constantly.
