Chapter 2Brunchville
As the pilot of the black helicopter flew back to his home base, he flew over Brunchville, a massive sub-division that stretched out for two miles in every direction. All the houses had
brown siding and and red shingled roofs. Although the pilot could not tell from this height, most of the houses were empty. The reason being that most of the citizens of CWCville couldn't afford
the cost of the houses. It was small wonder why the city had to build over ten Soup Hotels. Because of this most of the houses had fallen into disrepair, and had a shanty look about them. All
save one.
Number 14 Brunchville was the most well kept of the all the houses in the sub division. It was also the most ugly. The walls were painted a garish, sneering yellow while the roof was
shingled in vomitous pink. The pilot knew that this was the house of CWCville most celebrated head, next to the Mayor of course, Sonichu. Besides the obvious paint job, the house stood out from
the others in different ways. The paint while hideous was fresh and showed no signs of weathering and none of the shingles had blown off or were crooked. Despite the litter of childrens toys, the
lawn was a beautiful green color and was trimmed to perfection. The walkway to the mailbox was lined with pretty flowers which gave a person a break from the sight of the ugly house.
In complete contrast, both houses on either side of number 14 were in complete disarray. Paint was peeling from the sides, shingles falling off, windows boarded over or broken outwards.
The lawns which were once well kept were now overgrown and were actually threatening to crowd into Sonichu's yard. This was not true of all the houses however, as some did actually have residents.
Those that were inhabited had basic home maintenance done to them, but would never be able to outshow number 14. Probably because they were not allowed to.
There was nothing the pilot would love more than to be able to level the area with one of the rockets the helicopter was equipped with. He was therefore not entirely surprised when the
felt his finger lightly pressing the button that would fire the rockets. He quickly controlled himself however as he was under strict orders not to engage the enemy yet, and no one disobeyed the
Commander. When the pilot banked to the west intending to fly back over the houses something caught his eye. He was surprised that he hadn't noticed it before, it was so obvious. There was a new
house in Brunchville.
Not another brown one but a blue one. This house was painted the brightest blue and had black shingles on the roof. Not only that , but the house had a white trim going around the base of
it and for a moment the pilot thought he saw some red stripes on the shingles. To most people, this would not seem so strange, but the pilot had been studying CWCville and its inhabitants over for
months and knew exactly what had happened. There was new lovey dovey couple that had bought a house. Judging by the color scheme, the house belonged to Bubbles Rosechu, a member of the Chaotic
Combo, and Black Sonichu, a former enemy of Sonichu that most people referred to as Blake.
The pilot remembered his briefing on Bubbles and Blake. Bubbles had fallen in love with Blake and vice versa for no particular reason. They had been married for a while now, but mostly
spent their time on CWCville beach in Bubbles' shack. This new residence could only mean one thing: There was a bouncing baby on the way. The pilot felt a tinge of annoyance at the thought of the
baby forms of the Sonichu species. Little blobs of fat that waddled around on stumpy feet and stumpy hands and had flat, expressionless eyes. They were labled as no threat, but some of the people
back at home base felt differently. Those people all agreed that the Sonees and Roseys, as they were called, had an evil dark side that they went to great lenghts to hide.
The pilot quickly put in a communication with Home base.
"This is chopper CC17. I've got an emergency update."
After a few seconds, the cold voice of the Commander came back.
"What is the emergency?"
"Sir, it seems that Bubbles Rosechu and Black Sonichu have finally moved in together." the pilot responded.
"Of course they have. They have been screwing each other for the past couple of years. What else is new?" there was a tinge of annoyance in the Commander's voice which sent a shiver down
the pilot's spine.
"Well, sir. They have moved out of the shack on CWCville beach and now have a house in Brunchville."
Silence. then:
"Ah, now that is troubling." although the Commander didn't sound troubled in the slightest.
"It is my belief sir, that there is a new Sonee or Rosee on the way."
"Probably several on the way, considering how many times these things mate in a day. This is nevertheless quite important and you can be assured it will be taken care of."
"Yes sir." the pilot responded. Relieved that he had not wasted the Commander's time. It had happened before.
"We will alert our agent in the area. Good work CC17. Return to base."
"Yes sir." the pilot said again and cut the transmission.
The pilot had turned his chopper around and so didn't see the door of the new blue and black house open. Out stepped Black Sonichu. He was going to get the paper when he heard the
helicopter, and looked up to see it flying away. He liked the color scheme as it matched his own, but the logo of the dollar sign inside the letter "C" stirred something troubling inside
him although he couldn't think of what. He was in the act of picking up the paper when the voice of his wife, Bubbles Rosechu came out of the house.
"Oh Blakey-boo?" said Bubbles, "Would you run to the CWCstop and pick up a few things?"
"Yeah, sure thing baby." Blake responded.
So, with paper in hand he made his way to the convenience store while the helicopter finally flew out of site.
