Description
All the tears shedpeople left dead
helpless victims falling to their death
smoke and debris obstructing their breath
loved ones lost
the money cost
people stood on the streets
watching terrorists commit a horrifying feat
at home, little ones asking, “Where did Daddy go?”
and mothers hit them with the excruciating blow
pedestrians fleeing
they couldn’t believe what they were seeing
family members couldn’t even bear
when the towers came down and a loved one was there
an image shown on the TV
shown repeatedly, the tears come down in streams
who knew a few planes could tear a country apart
who knew a few planes could break America’s heart
there were few survivors
some were incinerated in the fire
ashes, ashes, we all fall down
black smoke covered the towns
salty tears on everyone’s face
dying crying screaming bleeding chaos all over the place
Tower 1
Tower 2
destruction galore
the Pentagon, Pennsylvania,
America can’t take it anymore
more than 3,000 people died
from the World Trade Center alone
just imagine how many loved ones never came home
September 12: memorials, funerals, debris,
smoke is still blowing as far as the eye can see
pictures of the missing
everyone’s comforting, crying, hugging and kissing
a terrorist’s hate
determines another’s fate
It was one of the worst days in history
but America just stayed as strong as could be

I -really- like this poem... I read it today during my lunch break and it had me held there... thinking of that day when I was in 5th grade... indeed we will never forget, and indeed we never should.
