Description Chapter 1
*Lightening crackle*
Lightening tore the sky in half with every strike.  The wind turned the rain into a billion little spikes as it poured from the almost blackened clouds that concealed the sky.  The ground turned from a green and lush landscape to a soggy, drooping mud pit.  This was certainly not the kind of weather to be out and about in.  Especially in a forest like this.  Downed trees became plentiful on the once solid dirt path.  Protruding branches hung off loosely over the road from trees that held firm.  Not to mention the leaves that failed to hold their grip and the many twists and turns in the road.  Blinded vision, constant noise, and rough terrain.  Perfect.
Step by step, I pushed through the increasingly hazardous woods.  It was becoming a rather difficult venture.  My lungs struggled to gain the slightest bit of air.  My legs struggled to keep from collapsing underneath me.  My heart felt as if it wanted to explode out of my chest.  For the icing on the cake, my two-shaded purple mane plastered itself to my fading blue coat from all the rain.  I kept on though; I had to make sure I was away from them.  From everything!  I wasn't too sure how far I've gone.  Ten miles?  A hundred?  Dear Celestia, I needed to rest.  I knew I couldn't keep this up any more…and I would have rather impale myself with my own horn if they lay another hoof on me.
Slowing my pace to a canter, I swiftly took in the surroundings for some kind of shelter.  To the left, more trees.  To the right, salvation!  Just outside of the tree line, a cave at the top of a hill showed itself with another flash of lightening, no more than a short gallop away.  I immediately shifted course and exploded through the forest barrier, taking out a few branches in the process.  With one last burst of energy, I dashed up that hill as fast as I could.  Reaching the cave's mouth, I reduced my pace to a slow and painful trot and took a few steps inside.  With myself just enough in the cave to be out of the storm, I turned my head and looked back out towards the forest for my captors. From the looks of things, it seemed as though they had given up.  No sign of them at all; no lights, no voices, nothing. For howlong I wasn't sure.
With the reassurance that I was safe, I simply let my legs give out under my weight.  There was nothing I wanted more than to have a nice, long, peaceful, and above all, quiet sleep.  Sure there was the rain, wind, and thunder outside, but that was more like a whisper compared to thousands of ponies screaming in your head all at once.
As I lay on the cave floor, water from my coat pooling around me, I began drawing long deep breaths while I let my whole body go limp.  After a minute or so, I noticed something…odd.  It was a rather interesting silver glow that slightly illuminated the cave entrance.  But it wasn't really a constant steady glow like a regular spell. It was more like pulsing, like a beacon.
"One break.  Is one bucking break so much to ask?" I fussed out loud to nopony in particular.
I clenched my head with my hooves while tightly holding my eyes shut in preparation for a very unwelcome onslaught of voices. Waiting…waiting…waiting…nothing?  My horn was radiating the same pulsing glow it always had when I "picked up" voices before, but this time, nothing.
"OH THANK CELESTIA AND EQUESTRIA!" I cheered rather overly triumphantly to myself as I rolled onto my back and proceeded to throw my legs in the air in celebration while filling the cave with laughter of shier crazy joy.  After a short burst of happiness, I regained my composure and let myself slip into a deep sleep with the second biggest grin I could remember etched onto my mussel.
