Billy Hatcher: Rise of Corvo [New Mainstream City]______________________________________________
---Sub-Chapter 1: Corvo's ordain
The message on the floor was picked up by Chick who read the message and passed it to Rolly and Bantam who also read it.
Rolly: uh, heh. . . Corvo can't actually go to our world, right?
Oma-Oma: I don't see why he couldn't.
Rolly: I mean he has to, I don't know. Be stuck here?
Billy: I would think so but. . . this thing. *points to message*
Bantam: Oma-Oma? If Corvo went to our would, could you send us back?
Oma-Oma: I cannot.
Bantam: How did you bring us over?
Oma-Oma: I didn't.
Billy: Yeah Bantam, it was that one baby chick that dragged me everywhere before, Remember?
Bantam: Who was that?
Everyone looked around at each other until the baby chicks began to say "wasn't me."
Billy: I don't know. What do we do?
Rolly: I think all we can do is wait and see what happens.
Later that night, everyone decided to crash at the den. All the baby chicks, chickens, and the heroes of Morningland were asleep until Chicken Elders Oma-Oma and Ponee walked into the room. Ponee made her way to Billy and tapped him while making a low "bok" sound.
Ponee: Billy.
Billy slowly got up and began to speak until Ponee went "shhh."
Ponee: Come with me and don't make a sound.
The two of them tip-toed out if the room until they were at a distance from the den outside. Oma-Oma stayed behind with everyone else.
Billy: So. . . What's up? *rubs eyes*
Ponee: I need to bring you somewhere for something important.
---Sub-Chapter 2: The Secret of Blizzard Castle
On their way to Blizzard Castle, Chicken Elder Ponee explained to Billy that her and Oma-Oma were thinking about the things that the message had imposed. They soon decided that Billy and his friends would need a way back and forth between their worlds and Ponee knew just how to do that. Later they were in front of the partially destroyed climate control building of Blizzard Castle.
Billy: So you can help us follow Corvo back into our world?
Ponee: Yes.
Chicken Elder Ponee held Billy by the shoulders.
Ponee: Okay, I need you to stand here.
Ponee walked up to the wall of the building and Pushed a brick into the wall.
Ponee: Unknown to mostly everyone and especially the crows, is this place.
Some of the ground in front of Billy caved in revealing some steps made out of brick.
Ponee: Over the years, we have found many artifacts, emblems, and old technologies which we felt the need to protect and study. This is also where we carry out experiments to help, better everyone's lives.
Ponee began to descend the stairs and Billy soon followed. Within the underground room was a vast array of emblems varying in shapes and colors which lit the room with a miraculous display of lights.
Ponee: Billy. Do you remember the baby chick you saved before you were first summoned to our world?
Billy paused to think until he remembered where everything first began.
*Flashback*
Billy reached his friends late and before they could say anything, a baby chick stumbled out from behind a tree injured. Billy heard the sound of a crow and looked straight at it, instantly knowing that it was the crows fault. The crow went in for a fatal blow against the baby chick when Billy had quickly picked up a branch and struck the crow away. Dazed, the crow knew he couldn't win and flew away into the sky. Concerned for the baby chick, Billy, Rolly, Chick, and Bantam turned around to help it when the baby chick began to emit a blinding white light. It was then that they saw the silhouette of a chicken, and they found themselves separated from each other in Morningland.
*Flashback end*
Billy: I remember!
Ponee: Have you ever wondered how that Baby chick came to your world?
Billy: Actually, that never crossed my mind before.
Ponee: Well that is why I have brought you here. *approaches a blue emblem* This, is a "Wing emblem", it will take you wherever you want to go at an instant.
Ponee passed Billy the emblem which was a partially translucent crystal wing with a strange yet comforting blue glow coming from within.
Billy: This thing is. . . cool. How does it work?
Ponee: Think about the place that you want to go and it will take you there.
Billy: Really!? Just like that!?
Ponee: Mhmm, Yesirre!
Billy: What about my friends?
Ponee: Everyone using the Wing emblem only has to touch it except for the one in control who must grip it and think about where they want to go.
Billy: Thank you so much! *hugs Ponee* I have to get back to the others! *begins to leave*
Ponee: BILLY WAIT! Whatever you do, you cannot tell anyone else about this place, Doing so could endanger us all!
Billy nodded and then walked outside while Chicken Elder Ponee stood watching.
Ponee: There he goes, a hero of Morningland. . .
Outside, Billy was standing staring at the emblem.
Billy: Okay so I have to grip this thing. . .
Billy gripped onto the base of the emblem and imagined the den with the view of the forest and the sunset. The green everywhere along with his friends. Then the emblem went from a light blue to a blinding white flash and Billy's vision became distorted and imploded on itself, inverting into the front of the den.
Billy instantly went from Blizzard Castle all the way back to Forest village in three blinks of an eye.
Billy ran into the den and told Rolly, Chick, and Bantam about the emblem and what it does.
Bantam: So where did you find it?
Rolly: Yeah, I want to know too.
Billy: I can't tell anyone. Ponee told me not too.
hick: So Ponee gave it to you?
Billy: . . . Yes, but I think I told you too much. . . *partially closes eyes* This conversation never happened. . .
---Sub-Chapter 3: A way home and to Corvo
Billy was experimenting with the emblem and getting used to controlling it until he had an idea.
Billy: Hey Chick. Go outside, I'm going to try something.
Chick went outside and Billy thought about Chick. Interestingly enough, it brought Billy in the general area near Chick.
He tested it several times with his friends and they figured out that the emblem works with people too.
Billy: This solves everything!
Rolly: I guess so, except. . .
Billy: There's always a catch isn't there. . .
Rolly: How will we fight Corvo? We can't take eggs with us.
Chick: Or can we?
Chick asked Billy for the emblem and he went around the side of the den to get his egg.
Chick: Okay! Billy! Stay over there, I'm going to come to you!
Chick held onto his egg and onto the wing emblem. He pictured Billy's face and helmet with the comb and instantly found himself near Billy but without the egg.
Chick: Okay, that doesn't work.
Rolly: So how will
Bantam interrupted Rolly's question and brought up their last encounter with Corvo when they didn't have eggs to fight with.
Bantam: So I'm sure all four of us together can take him.
Billy: So let's go! He's not going to wait for us y'know.
Everyone stood around and looked at each other.
Chick held the Wing emblem out and Rolly touched it, then Bantam, and finally Billy. Chick thought about Corvo and then they found themselves in a dark place surrounded by brick walls.
---Sub-Chapter 4: Welcome to the city
Bantam: Where are we?
Billy: I'm not really sure. What did you think about Chick?
Chick: I just thought about Corvo.
Billy: So question is, why are we HERE and where is Corvo?
Chick: I don't know but this is where the emblem took us.
They took a look around to find out where they were until they realized that they were in an alleyway. They walked out into the city where they saw a park along with a sign that read "New mainstream city recreational park".
Chick: New Mainstream City. . . hey, this is the city that me and my family go to every year!
Billy: SWEET, So you know your way around here?
Chick: no, not really but I can tell you that the pretzels at the stands are awesome!
Bantam: . . . I'm hungry now -.-;
They walked onwards looking around for any signs of Corvo around but instead, they were only stared at by many people who ether smiled, or looked at them funny.
Bantam: I feel weird now. . . Everyone's looking at us.
Rolly: Just ignore it. We won't be here for long anyway.
Bantam: kind of hard to do but sure, okay. . .
They walked around the city looking around for crows, or anything out of the ordinary but didn't find anything. What started off as them looking for Corvo, turned into them looking around in the windows of the stores, and checking out the various department stores. Chick and Bantam came across a set of RC cars that caught their interest while Rolly dragged billy with her to the dolls.
Billy: *losing his mind* Do we really have to be HERE?
Rolly: We could be looking at clothes.
Billy: . . . Dolls are fine. :/
An hour went by and they hadn't seen any signs that Corvo was around. During the time, Chick found a ten dollar bill lying on the ground. No one was around to claim it so Chick kept the ten dollar bill which he brought up to his friends later.
Chick: *shows $10 bill* Who's up for some pretzels?
---Sub-Chapter 5: speed to speed
Out at New Mainstream Park, the kids bought some pretzels. Billy and Chick got some with Parmesan while Rolly got the one with cinnamon. Bantam got the pretzel with the nacho cheese filling.
Bantam: Wow. *takes bite* These ARE pretty good!
Billy: Yeah, We have to have these more often!
Rolly: Best Pretzels ever.
Chick: We've tried so many pretzels around this city before and these ones are the best.
Rolly: How many times have you had these ones?
Chick: about 10 or 12. We always had one or two. Sometimes even three.
They ate their pretzels and sat around for a while. Then they decided to head back into the city to search for Corvo again.
Billy: I don't get it. We used the wing emblem and thought about Corvo, so why haven't we seen him yet?
Chick: I don't know. Let's try this again.
Chick gave Billy the Emblem and then the kids all touched it. Billy thought about Corvo and they ended up back in the alleyway again. Rolly tried, Bantam did too, and so did Chick once more, but all the tries took them to the exact same place.
Rolly: Why isn't it working!?
Billy: I'm going to guess that Corvo is here, but the emblem can't take us to him.
Rolly: So now we search again.
The kids walked out into the city again and walked by all the buildings once more. They passed an electronics store when Bantam noticed something on a TV behind the glass.
Bantam: HEY BILLY, ROLLY, CHICK! LOOK!
On the TV, a news channel was displayed. The subtext said "Unidentified entity in New Mainstream City" and broadcasting live from a helicopter's view was Corvo on an unknown roof top looking outwards at the sky. People began to crowd around the TV's to see what was happening when Corvo pulled out his spear and fired black lightning into the sky, making the camera static out, cutting off the live view of what was happening.
News person 1: Hector? Is everything alright over there?
There was no response.
News Person 2: Um. . . we aren't getting a response, but we will stay on air to keep everyone up to date.
Bantam, Billy, Chick, and Rolly, turned their attentions away from the screen and looked around for a sign of Corvo.
Billy: WE HAVE TO GET THERE. *points towards dark clouds*
They began to run when Rolly decided it would be easier to use the wing emblem.
Rolly: Hey Chick, Give me the Wing Emblem while I still have a fresh thought about the building we saw.
Chick gave Rolly the emblem and then they were off to the front of the building they saw on the news. The building was at least 40 stories tall and the sky directly above the building was shrouded in darkness.
Bantam: nowhere to go but up.
Billy: Let's go.
The kids walked into the building which lacked people. And they tried to use the elevator to the right of the entrance. The elevator refused to work so the kids had to take the stairs. When they opened the stair doors they looked up to see that there were four sets of stairs for every floor going up in a square shape.
Billy: Aww. This is not good.
-5th floor
Bantam: This. . . burns. . . this. . . stinks
-16th floor
Bantam: DX
Billy: Why can't stairs be less painful!
Rolly: This. . . is. . . difficult!
Chick: *heavy breathing* Can. . . Can we take a break?
-24th floor
Bantam: AH! Leg Cramp! *drops forward*
Rolly: Oh geez.
-30th floor
*dramatic music*
Billy: Can't. . . go. . . on. Stairs. . . sucking. . . life away. . . *Slowly keels over* NOOOOOOOO!
Rolly: Get up. >.>;
Billy got up and laughed a bit.
-last floor
Billy: There's. . . the door. . .
Bantam: We can't take Corvo. . . Not like this.
The kids decided that they needed to rest before going to Corvo so they took a five minute break. Then, it was time to fight Corvo. They opened the door and Corvo was on the OTHER rooftop!!!
Corvo: I knew you were coming here so I moved to this rooftop! *laughs*
Billy: *nt!* Aww, you suck Corvo. . . Wait. Chick, pass me the emblem.
The kids touched it and teleported to the next roof.
Corvo: Oh look. The kids got an upgrade. No matter. You will FALL!
Corvo created a barrier around Billy and pushed the others towards the edge of the rooftop.
Corvo: It's just you and me, heheheheheh. . .
Corvo created clones who, like always, pulled out their spears, surrounded, and dashed at Billy with intense speed. Billy quickly used the Wing emblem and teleported to the real Corvo dealing a punch to Corvo's head while behind him, the Corvo's all crashed into each other creating an explosion of dark vapor.
Corvo: Two can play at this game!
Corvo tightened his grip on his spear and teleported behind Billy to strike him but Billy used the wing emblem to teleport out of the way of Corvo's attack and into position to attack Corvo. Both kept at this pattern until Corvo grabbed Billy by his helmet's comb and quickly hit Billy's legs making Billy fall, back first, onto the floor. Then Corvo spun his spear around making the sharp part point down, and then went to stab Billy but Billy rolled out of the way while the spear broke through the floor of the rooftop. Billy then got up with a side sweeping motion making Corvo lose his balance. Corvo then pulled his spear out of the floor and swung it at Billy who caught the end and the middle of the spear and then kicked Corvo making him let go and fall onto the rooftop's floor. Billy broke Corvo's spear with his feet and threw the two pieces to his left and right.
Billy: *Takes a step forward* You're not very skilled.
Corvo: Neither are you Hatcher!
Billy: I don't have to be. . . I just have to be better than you.
Corvo got up and sprinted to the head of the broken spear and picked it up.
Corvo: Even in victory, you still lose!
Corvo held onto the spear head and teleported away. Billy looked around and noticed that the barrier didn't lower like he had expected.
Billy: Chick, Rolly, Bantam! I'll meet you outside the building by the entrance!
Rolly told Billy to look behind him. Billy turned around to see a news chopper flying in place watching his every move.
---Sub-Chapter 6: Spotted
The helicopter flew in place with a camera person broadcasting the events taking place on the rooftop. All around, everyone saw a chicken suited boy fighting off some weird thing with three other kids in suits, stuck outside a barrier watching everything unfold.
To get out of the shot, Billy teleported to the left side of the building on ground level while the others went for the stairs to make their way back down. When Billy walked around the corner of the building, he saw some people in armor with badges approaching the building. He had no idea what they were intending but he knew that whatever it was, it wouldn't be good for them. Billy thought about the staircases that they were in before and teleported there. He looked around for a clue as to which floor he was on and he saw a sign that read "Level 26" He shouted out loud for his friends who replied back saying "were down here!"
Billy: STOP! Don't go out the door!
Just then, the door of the first floor burst open and armored people came rushing onto the staircases.
Armored person 1: THERE THEY ARE!
Armored person 2: AFTER THEM!
They were sprinting up the steps rapidly while Chick, Rolly, and Bantam began to run towards Billy who was also running towards them.
Billy: Get ready to leave!
He had the Wing emblem ready to be used, and they were about 15 floors away from each other. One of the armored people shouted out loud "Don't let them get away! The Chief wants them contained and questioned!"
At that, the kids ran faster towards each other and were desperate to get out of there. When they were finally together, Billy was thinking about the Den back in Morningland and they went there. The people in Armor were confused and looked around all the staircases for the kids but never found them.
---Sub-Chapter 7: Back in Morningland. . .
The kids arrived outside the den safely.
Rolly: *trying to catch breath* What. . . What was that all. . . about?
Bantam: Yeah, Seriously!
Billy: I don't know, I just saw them coming into the building. I figured that wasn't a good thing so I teleported onto the staircase to warn you all.
Chick: That news copter. The one that Rolly pointed out. They probably called 216 and got the night hawks involved.
Billy: Um. . . the Night Hawks?
Chick: They're like an upgrade of the police or something that are only called for the truly dangerous stuff. They probably found out about the fight with Corvo thing and wanted to capture us to find out what all that was about. Anyway, For now, I wouldn't go back for a while. They'll be looking around for us.
Rolly: Let's just call it a day. The sun will be setting soon and we already fought Corvo, today's complete.
Billy: I guess but we've fought Corvo two times already and he's still out there so our job isn't done yet.
Chick: Then that's where we start. We have to find a way to keep him from running away and destroy him for good.
Later that day
Oma-Oma: That's impossible. Corvo and Dark Raven are both dark spirits that take on the shape of crows. They are crows, but they are more than that too. It is for that reason that they are always reborn every 100 years regardless of how they are defeated.
Billy: So even if we defeat them, they will still come back?
Oma-Oma: unfortunately, yes.
Billy: That's almost disappointing.
Ponee walked into the den and saw Billy and everyone else.
Ponee: So how did things go?
Billy: Well we beat Corvo in our own world. But he ran away.
Ponee: That's so like him. >.>;
Billy: How do we stop him if he keeps running away before we can defeat him?
Ponee: Corvo is very unstable and weak minded. He seems clever but he really isn't. That Spear he carries around all the time, That's what lets him use his magic. It's his focus point and without it, he can't actually use magic. Without his magic, he can't teleport and if he can't teleport, he can't escape and he's vulnerable. All you have to do is keep him from flying away and then finish him off.
Billy: So what your saying is to destroy his spear? But I broke it already into two pieces and he still teleported away.
Ponee: But did you destroy the arrowhead?
Billy: um. . . no.
Ponee: That's why, the wood is just wood, the arrowhead is his focus point.
Bantam: Hear that Billy? Destroy the arrowhead and Corvo's open to attack. We win.
