If you think about it, how did Fluttershy's parents knew she was going to be shy?  Or that Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara's parents knew that those would be their cutie marks?  Same goes for ponies like Ceerilee, Big Macintosh, Shining Armor, Snips, Snails, etc.  A LOT of ponies have names that match their personalities, despite the fact that their parents shouldn't know this about their future.

Also, Snowflake just seems like a really "obvious joke" name.  "OH LOOK, HE'S BIG AND BUFF, BU THIS NAME IS SNOWFLAKE, DOH HO HO!!"  But I guess it's just personal preference.

Fluttershy because I've seen a lot of shy newborns in real life before, she could've just hid her face a lot when she was first being presented. 

Diamond tiara and Silver Spoon Hasbro's fail' copnsidering their cutie marks are literal. So they arent to be taken seriously.

Shining Armor could've been what their parents imagine him to be in the future, Big Mac is rumored to be just Macintosh when he was born, and there could be family heritage in the backgrounds of all the other names.

Snowflake is more in line with the show, however I can understand why they can't copyright that name.
