EDIT :

Thanks everyone for
the comments and likes on my work, I'm sorry I can't answer and thanks
everyone because there's too many of you who leave comments and add me
on watch. SO THIS IS A MASSIVE THANKS !

Then a second thing :

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS ,
so no need to tell me that breast/bust part isn't cover and all I already know that, I'm the one who build it , so please read before posting

Btw,
IT'S NOT AN HISTORICAL ARMOR, as usual I make my craft for larp game, a
fantasy touch will be added (rohan's inspiration LOTR) so yes, might
have some parts of body uncover lol ,
I'm not going in a real fight so, no need to jump on your chair about
that and btw, I build my armor for myself and as I want it to be/look,
so it's my choice

You can follow me on Facebook : www.facebook.com/pages/Deakath…
And don't forget to take a look at my other armors if you like my work

Description :
Here is the finally done collar for this set, with the underbust (still waiting for the metal part to finish it) to show how it looks .

Shoulders will come and they'll be attached to the collar (and removabled).

I was currently building this set for playing a human female character in larp games, but soon I decided to use it for another character too, I'm gonna play (if all goes well) a Faun female this summer on this larp event : www.facebook.com/mondegaia?fre…
So pics from the set will come when it'll be done, in a human mode, and in a faun mode

A male set will follow.

Made of :
- vegetal tan leather 2.5 and 3.5 mm thick
- waterbased leather dye, antik gel and paint, Ecoflo as usual with 5 différents colors (3 are my secret mix, 2 for the brown and 1 for the sylver part).
- faux fur added.

All is handmade, dyed, sewed, carved, designed and molded by me directly on measurments   .

I don't like the idea of FEMALE armor being a corset out of leather. (Especially since the corset is attributed to France during the late 16th century). But it's very well done none the less. A Female Celtic warrior may have worn something like this www.ancientmilitary.com/images…

........ read the description please, I'm really tired to read comments like this one, don't take it personnaly but If and I say IF I wanna build an historical armor, I build one.
And as it's already written on the description, this is for LARP's game again, I work in a fantasy style and this armor is celtic inspirational with rohan's touch from LOTR so of course, it won't be Historical ..... And thx but I know how an historical armor look like, I've got celtic relics and constructions on my hometown.

btw thx for your comment about the "well done"

I Love the Celts, their History as a people I mean. Do you know anything about them? AMAZING art and craftsmanship!

Deakath In reply to HellHound12 [2013-11-30 18:00:36 +0000 UTC]

I learn few things about them (grew up in a city build on a gallo-roman town, with a lot of relics), I'm really fan of history, so I love the history of antique people like celt, vikings, egyptian, greek, etc
Thx so much about my work

This is absolutely amazing! Even if it's not "historically accurate" it's still one of the most beautiful and impressive things I have seen on this website.

Don't worry about the people who hound you over how "historically inaccurate" your armour is because its missing pieces. Celts and Wohts traditionally went into battle naked. I'm sure your armour, even now, offers more protection.

Needs blue in it somewhere though, if you want a Celtic theme.

BTW epic work, looks very good.

thx so much really, totally agree with you
don't know yet for the color, but yeah blue (or green) might be a great idea for the clothes when I'll use it as human's armor

I assume the underbust corset fits the person better than the mannequin, but if that is the intended fit, you will run into problems with the large lacing gap.  The bottom will want to flip up as the wearer moves around.  This can be remedied by adding another section to close the gap.

Deakath In reply to dung0beetle [2013-11-30 08:15:39 +0000 UTC]

It fit perfectly on me and don't move at all, it's not a tissu underbust and it had be molded directly on me btw, so no prob about that thx

dung0beetle In reply to Deakath [2013-11-30 20:06:00 +0000 UTC]

Awesome!  Some people focus too much on the artwork and not enough on function.  It's good to hear that you are giving both equal attention.  I forgot to compliment you on the tooling.  Great work!  The cutouts make it pop!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Deakath In reply to dung0beetle [2013-11-30 20:44:48 +0000 UTC]

thx a lot, yep the function is my main goal on making armors or clothes because it was, with the wish of a special looking style, one of the trouble that I had with all that I had buy from larp store.
I'm not tall at all, but with woman curves and not skinny, and I love playing warrior because I'm really in love with martial arts and the art of battle, so I need to be mobile without anything to stop my moves or causing me pain when I have to fight. But as a woman, I want nice looking stuff too So that's why function and fitting are so important for me, as the design, details and color are
