I feel like I haven't done one of these yet, showing how I start and then finish drawings. I believe I did one a long time ago (with Elsa) but that was a fair few years ago, and alot has changed since then. Also I decided to go with my most recent drawing (as of posting this) as a guide to show you guys the process I use typically for my drawings.
So, here's a bit of description for each of the steps in case some of them aren't clear for you.
1. I begin to draw the pose roughly, using blocky shapes mainly, nothing too detailed. This stage is mainly focusing on nailing the pose I want down.
2. Then I refine the pose to a curved/semi-realistic form, adding clothes over the top and erasing any lines that would be hidden by clothing. Also I added all details, including eyes/eye direction, fingers, feet/toes and accessories.
3. After uploading the image to my computer, I import to Photoshop and trace over my outlines using a slightly thick stroke with faded edges for more smoothness and added a pen pressure effect so my strokes are thin at the start and the end due to the pressure I apply using my drawing tablet pen on the tablet.
4. Using separate layers for any colours that don't touch (or next to) each other, I select specific areas (or open shapes within the outlines) and fill them in with the colour I want. I don't have all of the colours filled in one layer, they have to have a good distance from each other because of the next step.
5. This is when I add shading. I use a paint-faded like brush too, with the flow of my brush lowered to 50% to add more transparency and softness, I apply pen pressure more heavily around the darker areas on a layer above the coloured layers, clipping that shading layer to the specific colours below it. For the shadow layer, I select the original colour in a certain area, then lower the brightness of that colour and use that same colour using my low flow pen pressured paint-like brush to add the shading above that specific colour. To add more vibrancy to the shading I change the layer mode to multiply.
6. The final step is touching up and adding highlights above the shadowed layer in their own layer, eye-dropping the same original colour then brightening it up and using the same kind of brush I used for the shading to add minimal amounts of lighting. Note that I don't use lighting on the skin much as I feel like it would make the skin look too shiny.
And that's it! I probably missed a few minor steps I do here and there but that's most of how I come from a blank page to a final refined digital drawing. Hopefully it was very informative to you and it made you understand how I create my drawings, and how you could maybe even use my steps to create your own drawings if you want! Mind you, my drawing process involves Photoshop, a drawing tablet, and traditional tools. I generally don't use traditional media that often, usually I start the sketch in Photoshop but sometimes I like to go back to using traditional media every once in a while.
NOTE: I excluded the fire from the initial drawing as I don't usually draw fire in a lot of my works.
