What I mean is, to create such an effect, it must be carefully done without causing the whole image to look wrong. I think.

you can make only the ponies visible and create a new layer from what is visible and lock the transperancy and not much can go wrong from there. Then you need to smooth out some edges if the value difference is too big. Gotta check back and forth with the displacement. That's about it^^

Well, as I tried to say, the 3D doesn't work very well. It seems that each object is spinning in its own axis, rather than the whole image spinning on a central axis.

Yeah, I see what you mean. That's cause it's not real 3D and it's sometimes tricky to find the right value
