Description

She was present again, in her dreams, though she often only realized it consciously after waking. She stepped along Stonehaven's pathways, marked permanently into her mind from the time she'd spent as a Pathfinder oh so long ago. She thought she'd been following the bloodied paw prints of a packmate, concern for whoever it was spurning her on. She should find them and bring them to Sanctum for assistance. But... the steps were never-ending. She looked behind herself, and noticed that each step was placed exactly where her own paws had been. These were hers. But the blood was not.

And every time she stepped again, no matter how hard she tried, her toes landed upon the bloody steps ahead of her. Even with all the will behind her, so confident that she might place her foot inches to the side of the next one... it always moved. They always came together.

And somehow, it felt right.

She had left the blood of others behind her before. That of the innocent, most memorably. She knew that even those actions were not the furthest she was capable of. When it came to Stonehaven, when it came to the fight against the Koi, the fight for life and the eradication of magic, nothing was too far.
