This was the beginning, the root of all the mess that followed Thirdghost from Taika to Skydas. The southern pack had not been a good fit for the girl; she was too confrontational, too violent, for their tastes. And it wasn't like she was trying not to fit in; it was something she wanted desperately. A family, a home, that accepted her for who she was. Instead, she got scolding. She got angry looks. It wasn't fair that every other wolf around her could fit in where she was barely treading water.
