Description The next in a long line of my special brand of reference sheets!

Here is Roscoe; a jaded, wisened and cantankerous old fox. Born well before the 'Valley was plunged into chaos, he is one of the few who remembers exactly what happened in those fateful days. His taciturn nature makes it difficult to extract the truth from him though, and he has a lot of memories which he would rather forget. In his time he was the sharpest trickster in the West, but he was blinded by a series of unfortunate consequences which also led to the loss of his mate and sons. For years afterwards he struggled in the Badlands with his disability, relying on the good will of others to survive. Luckily (or otherwise) Victor eventually made his way westward and met old Roscoe while looking for a place to stay. Now the two tricksters -one young and one old- live together, supporting one another in a strange friendship.

Roscoe is 57 at the time of the story. He still struggles without eyes, as such he doesn't often wander far from their home. Instead he makes it his business to keep it in one piece while Victor is away (though being old and lame, his laziness and the warm afternoon sun often get the better of him). Roscoe's temprament has been dulled by experience and he is much kinder than in his younger years. He feels strongly for Victor, though he would never say it aloud, and has a peculiar kind of paternal nature towards him since the loss of his own sons. He has been around long enough to pass down his words of wisdom and advice, even if in Victor's case it often falls upon deaf ears.

'What can I say, Miss? They don’t call it the Wild West for nothin’!' - Roscoe, Pg. 267
