Description
(The title of this scrap is actually "Microsoft Windows XP! Now with Fewer Features than Ever!" However, titles that long aren't allowed, as well as exclamation points. Why periods, full stops, underscores, apostrophes, quotation marks, plus signs, commas, dollar signs, question marks, colons and dashes are allowed to the exclusion of exclamation points, I'll never know.)That's right, folks! All the things you used to be able to do in Windows 3.1, 95, 98, or even ME are long gone! This is what you have left. Gone are the days when you could regulate for yourself how many processes were running in the background!
In all seriousness, I used to hit control, alt, and delete on my old Windows '95 machine and have a list as long as my ... well, let's say it was a fairly long list.* The first thing I noticed on this new computer was that it would not track these background processes. I keep trying to figure out why, but I'm either too dumb or the answer is too simple. (Could it be that a lot of these background processes help keep track of our computer use and would not work, of course, if they were turned off?)
*As long as my leg. What were you all thinking?
