[1800x1200 -- zoom on in]

Left to right and in alphabetical, not chronological, order: Amatera, Athena, L'il Scrap Boy/L'il Patch Girl, Circuit, Onyx, Synx, and Venus500.

----------

As noted in the previous post: Several upcoming works are gonna have robot women--possibly quite a lot of them. That's OK, because I own a lot of them. In fact, that's my problem. In my "Robots and Dolls" figures folder I have fifty-two distinct kits. Now, mind you, about half of those are dolls and not robots, and many of them are more like glorified wardrobe items and not full figures, but that's still a lot of sorting out to do. So, since I'm not starting my next long work until I come back from travel, I'm using a spare hour or two to sort through the robot collection. Gotta know what I have in order to decide what I want to use.

This chapter of the Robot Saga is dedicated to the works of Pixeluna. Pix does things very differently from daveyabbo. Only one of these figures uses the "morph plus shell" basic Dave method. The rest are actually complete figures--that is, they are characters of their own. And all the ones which are full figures have both "cyborg" and non-cyborg morphs/skins, so you can use them as normal people if you like. The tradeoff on this is that Pix' cyborgs tend to be a lot less obviously robotic in their shapes--usually all they have is some seams/inset lines on their body, and maybe some custom eyes. One of the figures shown here has no custom morphs at all.

I've actually bought most of Pix' obvious cyborg catalog at this point, though she likes slipping cyborg-like features into her other figures, so it's possible I've missed something. Ones I have not bought on purpose: Silver (too similar to Amatera), Zharien (don't care for her base form and I've already got several "robot limb" kits), Psionne (I try not to buy figures that look like recognizable real people, and that is very clearly Scarlett Johansson), Cypher (the boy version of Synx--who needs boys), and a couple of V4 figures which are too old for me.

Amatera loads as an actual figure, with her own shape and skin, and can be loaded with or without the cyborg morph. The metal plates over Amatera's nipples and her anatomical elements are NOT part of this figure's kit; they are part of Yukatan's Rider Suit and I added them because everyone else here was dressed enough for me to not need the Mature flag if I could just cover her up a a bit.

Athena is the lone item here who is not an actual figure -- you can see right away that her actor has loaded generic G8F. Athena is a body morph and the suit geoshell; you can load them independently of one another, but the morph without the geoshell looks bizarre. This is the default surface for the suit, and the least interesting of the four provided IMO.

L'il Patch Girl and L'il Scrap Boy are complete figures, though their nature makes them only usable in certain places. In this case, I have changed from the default because their default is gold-toned and I hate it. I used the blue version of L'il Patch Girl, but applied to an Aiko figure, for the Cylas in the "Krath" segments of Sleeper Squad.

Circuit (G3) has no body morphs at all. She is a distinct figure, though. She does have some "circuitry" skin designs which are an optional surface apply--you can see them clearly here on her chest and much less clearly on her face. She is designed to work with the Integrated Circuit outfit, so I've put it on her here, body jewels and all.

Onyx and Venus500 are basically the same figure with different skin tones. I did not know that when I bought Onyx, whom I bought first, and I ended up going back and getting Venus500 when she was on sale. It would be better to have marketed Onyx as an add-on for Venus500, though she does stand alone ... except for the bodysuit/leotard thingie. Onyx requires Venus500 for that (though she has additional mats for it).

Synx (G3) is standing between Onyx and Venus500. She is a full figure with both human and cyborg surfaces. She is actually by far the most robust of the figures in terms of surfaces, with her several add-on packs; shame she's G3. She is designed to go with the CosmicSynx outfit, so I put her in it here ... and then had to stop and redo the image when I realized that the outfit does not load with a surface already on, and I had to go back and load materials. I made all her lights purple because she's standing between two figures wearing blue and red, and I have a sense of artistic justice.

EDIT: A friend of mine who owns Cypher, Synx's male counterpart figure, saw the "who needs boys" line above and did a comparison render of Cypher and a couple of other cyborg males of his acquaintance. So if you'd like to see what Cypher looks like, have a go. Note that unlike this image, his has to be flagged Mature as it contains exposed robodinguses.

Next time in Robotland: Odds and ends (and some of the ends are very odd indeed).
