When Drake and Violet reunite, it takes them some time to get used to how different they are from when they last saw each other. The obvious example is how Drake was a lot more talkative and cheerful as a kid, but there are some pretty big changes in Violet too.

When she and Drake were together as kids, she was a lot more serious and reserved, since she was focused on keeping the two of them safe. Even if her life alone in universe X was rough and she had a lot of emotional issues of her own, being away from Lars for longer did have a positive influence. Being away from her father kinda let learn to have fun and not be serious all the time.

She gets along with Logan really well, which kinda surprises Drake because she probably wouldn't have liked him when she was younger. The two of them both love memes and have the same sense of humor now (really NSFW jokes and that kinda thing). It takes Drake a while to get used to that kinda thing, especially since he's so easily embarrassed.
