This is a really beautiful shot. I like the DOF -- usually I shoot butterflies at f/10 or higher, but this one really works well at f/2.8. I like the way the wings kind of fade into the background. Nice work!

Awesome shot, Just currious, but what lens were you using? It says 105mm, but I don't know of any marco lenses at that focal length.

There are some macro lenses with a 105mm focal length.
I use the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG for Canon.

The colors and DOF here are gorgeous. The way the flower goes in and out of focus like that makes it almost surreal... Wonderful.
And, of course, I love the butterfly (flutter-by!) itself.
