Description
Speculative painting depicting the surface of Neptune's largest moon. This moon is notable for being the largest moon in a retrograde (opposite planet's rotation) orbit. This leads scientists to believe that Triton was captured by Neptune and did not form with the planet. The voyager 2 space probe flew by Neptune in 1989 and photographed Triton. Surprisingly the moon was found to be geologically active despite temperatures of -240 C.12x18 Acrylic
