Royalty, you know, has such history
more viscous than molten rock, as searing
against your skin it runs
a thousand pairs of eyes, recording
your whimpers gilted on the page
ossify, as such, your pose.

Royalty, suppose, his proclivities
narrate the weight of a hundred years
of sediment: honor, pomp, extravagance
and binds of blood that surface, steer
him thus as you deign to feel
victim to his feverish ways.

Yet you are closer to the source
a purer strain there flows
within your veins, poisons compose
your power plays, your wayward course
his tendencies diluted rose;
unadulterated yours.

Black ink on 10x16 illustration board. Color in PS.
The inking took some time (around two weeks, non-continuous of course)
...but it's a vacation piece so I had some time.
It was a long wait (but well worth it) I love this one. This one I made for me.
