Sam had been looking forward to a long evening at the bookstore. She was adventurous, but not daring—an explorer of literature! She always felt a thrill of excitement when a new bestseller was released.

This evening, Sam was sporting a cream color long bandeau tube top, decorated with a single brown line at the top, and blue jeans. She stepped into the bookstore, looking forward to the empty shelves, yet to be filled with the new books.

But, as she made her way up to the second floor, Sam noticed something odd. None of the employees were in sight and only a few customers were browsing. Despite the lack of familiar faces, Sam continued to browse.

Suddenly she heard a loud noise and felt a strong grip on her arm. Before Sam could realize what was happening, someone was dragging her and covering her mouth with one hand. She was being taken down a deserted hallway to an empty room.

Sam tried to scream for help, but her shouts were muffled by the hand over her mouth. When they arrived at the room, Sam was thrown to the floor. She heard the door slamming shut and felt the room slippering into complete darkness.

Shaking with fear, Sam stepped away from the door and groped her way through the darkness. She searched for anything that she could use to unlock the door and get out of the room but all she found was a thin wooden table and a single chair.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, footsteps approached. A figure in a black mask stood at the doorway and spoke in a low voice. Sam's heart sank as the figure declared that he had been hired to kidnap Sam and release her for a hefty ransom.

Although Sam was terrified, she knew that she had to be brave. She was determined to stay calm and find a way out of this situation.

As the figure left, Sam waited for her chance to escape. After what felt like hours, she heard someone walking down the hallway outside the room. Sam leapt to the window, yanked the curtains open and screamed for help.

Moments later, a handful of employees and customers came to her aide. They all held onto the figure in the black mask and eventually he was arrested.

Sam was relieved and grateful for her freedom. She was shaken and scared but she knew that she was going to be alright thanks to the help of the people in the bookstore. Even in a room of darkness, she was never truly alone.
