Ok, this is my first smudged nebula.
Smudging is cool and it's rapidly
becoming my main digital style.
Comments and favs,

Okay, if this is from scratch it's really nice. It was my favorite by far from the ones you gave me to choose. I saw it when you uploaded it I think. It's a really nice job, the colors and diagonal composition... and I really love the lightburst. Very nice. ^_^

It never ceases to amaze me that the are so many talented people in t he world. I can barely get photoshop to do what I want (manipules some photos)...let alone CREATE something so beautiful. This is simply breathtaking.

Well, as I said I have nearly nothing to critiscise. I see You are pretty good with Your technique. I like the planets and the light in the middle. A bonus for quite realistic stars, but i suggest You make some more of them near the upper planet cause it looks to me like it would radiate with darkness. The violet colour is quite interesting too.

How did I do all this.... Well....
A friend of mine who makes space art too, said that I should pay attention to detail, so I did.
This took me allot of time though, but it was worth every minute.
I started out with the base form of the nebula and then layer for layer made the depth of it.
I made the stars and star field. Then I made planets, fog, the asteroid belt around the smaller planet.
I changed planet surface on the largest planets many times to get pleased with the result.
If you want to make something like this, a good start is to take a look at: [link]
There is allot of tutorials there for you to read

I love the colors in this piece. The purples give it a slightly warm feeling, but the blue around the lighter parts gives it a crisper look. It's really nice, I like it.

not bad! the star dust looks quite nice in detail, planet texture i think needs more tiny details & the bump on it looks a little strange but nothing too bad.. i liek the nebulae, myabe just add an extra layer with low opacity brush & give it some smooth smudging to give a dissipating look to the nebulae, good work
