Description
This has been sitting in my drafts, waiting to be uploaded for 4 months now.
I'm sorry!
tldr; Bash shows Egon the ropes. They see a large herd moving towards the east. A bachelor warns them that Humans have been spotted in the valley. Bash has Eidolon move the herd, while he goes to make sure the humans aren't close to them.

Close Encounters
After his return, seeing that Meraluna made her way home safely, Bash spent quite a lot of his days helping Taryn keep their two foals occupied. Egon was a handful on his own, so any time that he was able, the stallion would take the colt around their territory and try and teach him the ways of the world for males like them. Today was no different. Currently, Bash and Egon were wandering the outskirts of the valley, keeping to the high ground as they followed the river.
Originally, Bash intended to do this scouting on his own, but between the two foals and leading the herd he had noticed that Taryn was looking rather worn out. So he had done what he thought would help and took the more rambunctious of the two so Taryn could get some much needed rest. Besides, Inlustris was practically glued to her side. He couldn’t blame the filly, especially after watching her mother abandon her right after bringing her into the world.
“Hey dad! There’s more horses down there!” Egon piped up, jolting Bash from his thoughts.
The stallion turned his head, following his son’s line of sight. A rather large herd was seen running across the plains below. Bash worried about it, noting their fast pace, especially considering there were foals within the group. Fast traveling with younglings was dangerous, as their little legs were often weak and fragile for the beginning stages of their lives.
“Stay close. They seem to be moving away from something.” Bash commented, stepping closer to the colt.
Egon trembled noticeably, but Bash kept his gaze on the herd as they quickly rushed east, away from the forest they had come from. Bash angled his body as the sound of another horse approaching grew louder. Cresting the hill they were on was a black maned stallion with a brown and white body. The male slid to a stop at the sight of Bash standing protectively in front of the colt.
“I mean no harm. My name is Fargo and I am just passing through.” The stallion said, lowering his head in submission. “There are humans back towards the west of the valley and I do not wish to be taken by them again.”
“I understand that. Thank you for letting me know.” Bash responded, indicating for the stallion to continue his journey. “Safe travels, Fargo.”
The white on bay stallion nodded at him and gave them a wide berth as the stallion kicked up his heels into a gallop.
“Come, Egon. We need to get you back to the herd.” Bash ordered.
The colt looked like he wanted to protest, but ultimately said nothing.
“Okay, dad.” He said trotting beside his father, picking up speed as they headed back towards their home.
---------
When they reached the small clearing, where his small family resided, Bash let out a trumpeting call towards them as he looked for Eidolon.
The white stallion appeared moments later, galloping swiftly towards Bash.
“What trouble is there?” Eidolon asked, slowing as he reached the stallion and colt.
“Keep an eye on your mother, and sister for me, okay?” Bash said as he nudged Egon, sending him off.
The little colt’s face grew serious as he nodded.
“Yes, sir!” He said, running off towards his mother.
When he was out of earshot, Bash looked towards Eidolon.
“There’s been human sightings to the west of here. I would like to move the herd farther south before they get any closer.” Bash stated.
Eidolon frowned as he looked from Bash, towards the herd. The journey would be easy enough, but the stallions worried about Ondina, as she was due any moment. The move might be enough to stress her into labor and the stallions knew that would not be good for any of them. Bash for one, wouldn’t leave her, and that would make them easy targets should they be found by any of the creatures.
“I will go back and make sure the humans aren’t close. Start the mares towards the south meadow. I don’t want to take the risk of the humans finding us here.” Bash said, looking at Eidolon.
“Of course.” Eidolon said, nodding his head.
“I will let Taryn know, if you can gather the rest of the mares and fillies.” Bash said, not bothering to wait for an answer before making his way towards his blue roan lead mare.
Taryn looked worried as she made her way towards him.
“Bash, what’s going on? Egon said there were humans?” She questioned, looking nervously at Bash.
Bash looked from her eyes to a fearful foal peeking out from under her stomach; Inlustris. He nodded, looking back into her brown eyes.
“Yes, there have been sightings. A few herds are shifting their own locations, and I wish to move us to the south meadow.” Bash confirmed.
“Ondina is due any minute now… Do you think she will make the journey?” Taryn questioned.
“She has to try.” Bash said, leaning over and nuzzling Taryn.
“You’re not going with us, are you?” She asked, sadness tinging her voice.
“I am going to make sure they do not follow. I have to know where they are, if I am to keep them from finding you.” He said, pulling his head back. “Please be safe.”
Taryn nodded, unable to speak, for fear that she would worry the foals with her emotions. Eidolon walked up to him at this point.
“I will see you to the edge of the clearing before we depart.” Eidolon said.
Bash nodded, nuzzling Taryn and the two foals before loping off with Eidolon by his side.
“We will stay close to the river, in case we need it to mask our tracks.” Eidolon said, slowing as they reached the edge of the clearing.
“Eidolon, please take care of them while I am gone.” Bash said, looking at the white stallion. “There is no one else that I would ever entrust them to, aside from you.”
“I appreciate your praise, Sebastian.” The white stallion said with a small smile that didn’t quite meet his eyes.
Sebastian flared his nostrils, the scent of a strange horse reaching him as it traveled with the breeze…
