Description
Feeling her heart clenching.Desperation is taking over.
Her life is running away in droplets of crimson liquid.
In the heat of the moment, in the beat of her heart, the first thing she tries to take control of, is herself, her own fears and weaknesses. Exactly before she tries to take control of the rest.
Unfortunately, that simple action is exactly the thing that she just can´t do.
But she already knows... She knows she´s defeated...

La desperación se está posesionando de ella.
Su vida está huyendo en gotas de líquido carmesí.
En el calor del momento, lo primero que ella quiere controlar es a si misma, sus propios miedos y debilidades. Exactamente antes de tomar control del resto.
Desafortunadamente, esta simple acción es exactamente aquello que no puede hacer.
Pero ella ya lo sabe... Sabe que está derrotada...

I love the look in Rukia's eyes.
She desperately wants nothing but to fight her way out of whatever trouble she has fallen into. She knows the odds are against her, but her teeth are clenched in denial. Her eyes mirror that feeling exactly, as if to say, "I have to do this. I must win. I have no other choice," even though echoing in the back of her head there is the thought, "even if I can't survive."
A subtle detail I adore: the little blood droplets falling from her chin. It makes everything feel so alive. The blood isn't just there. It's throbbing, gushing. There is movement, pause, thought, and action.

It came as an amazing surprise that you could see beyond my words and the intent... see into her eyes, the truth that lies beneath them.
Because it´s true: she´s outnumbered, but her soul doesn´t feel defeated at all. She´s just reading herself for the real fight!
And I´m happy you liked the blood droplets! it´s something that caught my eyes all the time when I was finishing it. I wanted to give them some more detail, but I thought it would be just too much.

I love how the red is splashed in the monochrome color scheme! And to me i see that her eyes show that she knows that shes defeated but her whole expression looks like she doesn't want to give up just yet.

have you ever felt like that? defeated? like you´re just tired of shit and want to lie down and forget about everything?
I think the key to success is to get exactly to the moment when you close your eyes, huff a bit and throw away that feeling... after you let it mull over a bit around you.
And in this drawing, I think Rukia is just about to feel that rush of adrenaline.
