Description I love steam locomotives -- living, breathing machines. They require servants, though, to keep their fires lit and to tend to a great many other mechanical needs. Here, men are caring for Pere Marquette 1225, which provided all of the sounds and most of the appearance of the locomotive in The Polar Express film. Scan of Fuji Velvia.

I love these as well, they have a very magical feeling that makes the steampunk in me just foam at the mouth. The lighting you captured is stunning and the rusty colours are simply delicious. I really like all the details and how the person is seen in silhouette against the mechanical parts. Excellent shot.

I'm not sure if this was your intent, but this has a very eerie feeling to it when I look at it. Must be a combination of the monster movie freak in me and the curiously dark red tone of the highlights. The vignetting, whether compositional or accidental, really adds to the feel. Cool train!
