Description
Paper Mario/Mario Story style sprites for Torpedo Ted and Torpedo Base, an underwater Bullet Bill variant from Super Mario World. This was a request from Gensokyo-man.Just under the Twin Bridges of Dinosaur Land, there's a lake with the fizziness of soda. With a little alley-ooping under the main goal of Cheese Bridge, the secret way into the lake can be found.
However, part of the lake's fizziness may be a result of the sinister Torpedo Ted. The Torpedo Bases seemed to have been placed here in an effort to guard an especially sparkly secret. Careful maneuvering around the missiles is key to finding the shining path.
And really, that's life in general- we're all just trying to avoid missiles while flailing in water, in an effort to reach the gates to our goals and unlock it. I'm DerekminyA, and thank you for coming to my Torpedo Ted talk.
...oh yeah, the rest of Torpedo Ted's history! Aside from the GBA port of World, Torpedo Ted and their bases first fired back into the public with the release of Super Princess Peach, being one of many Super Mario World enemies to return for that game. Afterwards, the Teds and Bases appeared for the first (and as of this writing, only) time in 3D with Super Mario Galaxy, at the mysterious Buoy Base. Years later, Torpedo Ted finally got his big break with New Super Mario Bros. U, appearing in the main game, Super Luigi U, and the Switch port. Last, Ted appeared in Mario Party 10 and Super Mario Party.
