DD ? Oh My GodFirstly, Thank you A looooooooot SoulFighty for suggesting my first DD
and Thank you pica-ae for featuring my first DD ...
Secondly, Wooooooooooooooow ... I really did not expect this much of disagreements, it is really surprising
anyway, I don't know how should I start but,
the idea of the design is very simple
Imagination .. is .. not .. supposed .. to .. be .. shown ..
I'm not being sarcastic or anything. in fact I'm being serious and I do know the full meaning of what I'm saying.
basically, imagination is supposed to be imagined is meant to be imagined NOT to be shown ... that's why it is called IMAGINATION...
The idea basically started after I realised that most people think that any piece of art must be based on imagination ... imagination is a small job that the brain can do .. but it is not everything the brain does ... I agree art is mostly based on the brain of the artist ... that's why I did not say "art is not supposed to be shown" ..
however, most of what you see now a days in movies, video clips, designs, even advertisements is fully based on imagination ... so what I'm trying to say to all of them is "STOP ... stop showing me my imagination and let me imagine it" .. my brain has the right to feel that it's useful .. but by showing me something that needs to be imagined you are KILLING my brain and asks it to stop working cos what you are sowing me is already doing the job for it ...
not every piece of art is based on imagination .. and imagination is not your only way of being an artiest .. I know it is one of the ways but NOT THE ONLY .. you are an artist because of whatever you do, whatever you say, whatever you think about, not because you have the ability to show us what is in your mind ...
a real piece of art makes your brain work, think, improve ..
a real piece of art doesn't stop your brain from working or makes you just say " ummm, That looks nice!"
the real artist does not express him/her self ONLY on a "piece" of art .. Art to real artists is a life style, is a way of thinking, is everything .........
I hope that explain some of the meaning ..

At first I didn't understand, but looking at the description and thinking a little made me realize what you meant: that art is meant to provoke and expand the viewer's mind and imagination, not simply show the artist's. And I love the fact that this does that, proving your point.

I agree totally. What makes an artist an artist is the way they think, and the way they see things in the environment around them.
Expression through your chosen art form is only one way to show your inner-view.

After reading the description, I feel a new meaning is revealed with your work: you describe TV, movies, and the like as throwing stuff at you and limiting the imagination. This piece and the message, however, do the opposite by FIRING the imagination. I'm looking for words, I see things that remind me of the subway map, and old TV show, water pipelines--you sparked something rather than leaving me unsatisfied like special effects movies. This art will not stop my imagination!

Oh how the words speak more than the pictures and yet some do not truly get the words.

The description is almost cooler than the drawing...not to diss the drawing at ALL. It's awesome. Not to mention way better than anything I could ever think of.
Seriously, though, this is really deep. Most good books create a vivid image, but leave much to your imagination. I'm not saying people shouldn't share their ideas, but how the blanks are filled in is completely unique to every person. You've done a brilliant job of explaining this much more smoothly.

I'm kind of confused with what you meant, even after reading the description, but from what I understand I don't totally agree...only because everyone's mind works differently; everyone's imagination is different. Even if now a days, movies, ads, even books, etc. etc. I don't think they are limiting our own imagination or "killing your brain."
I do agree that "a real piece of art makes your brain work, think, improve" but doesn't that apply more to the viewers of art, not necessarily the artist. Art is the creation of anything, but in order to consciously create art(otherwise anything created is art, even on accident) doesn't the artist need to be able to express the thought/idea/imagination behind the work so they can construct it; they need to be able to show what's on their mind, even if people who think differently don't see it the same way.
Lastly, I do agree with "the real artist does not express him/her self ONLY on a "piece" of art .. Art to real artists is a life style, is a way of thinking, is everything ........." at least to some extent.
P.S. I like how the picture looks, but from what I understood from your explanation, only the words are thought provoking.
