being in the military, we talk about this topic because of the don't ask don't tell was getting revoked (thank god) and we had to let all the men lay down their "concerns" and in the end, the biggest concern is that they think a gay guy is going to stare at their dick while they're getting changed/coming out of the shower/going to take a dump

The people who have a problem are homosexuals being suppressed for the way they love their fellow beings.

Let's give it another spin: People don't love "men" or "women" or "both" anyway, they love one (or maybe few more or even none at all) person, and by this, they exclude 7 billion others, all other men and all other women; this means: All people, homo-, hetero-, bi-,pan-, asexual or any other, agree on not loving 7 billion people, isn't that a concord that outshines all the disagreements? Heterosexuals disagree on which specific human being to love, just like homos and heteros disagree...so fuck the differences and let people fuck whomever they want to.

Haha I agree, most definitely. In fact, I chose to ignore this type of stuff most of the time because of that XD. I for one kinda realized a while ago that sexuality don't matter anyway. I love the person I love, and that's it. There doesn't need to be a specific name, and their sexual body parts don't matter to me either.

Ignorance is only an option to those not suppressed - therefore I think it's up to everyone to fight for rights he/she thinks should be granted, not only up to those who will be granted these rights - actually I neither do care about people's sexuality, but I do care that some don't ignore, but tell people their sexuality is wrong.
Maybe I'm especially sensible to this (looking at my fellow Germans, this is proven to be wrong^^), but it's been the ignorance of millions of Germans that enabled the Nazis to kill millions of Jews.

I for one like to spread that: For those who think in stuff like the bible and all. Well I came to realize that the thing said there are God's way of giving advice. We can do anything we want with our lives. It's what we know about the consequences and how well we can stand up to them if we chose to do something that is wrong in SOCIETY'S point of view (Those who are most successful usually BREAK the rules! Of course, for good reason- not the bad).
God loves us all. And he's giving us the part of the future where we stand up and make it right (such as gay marriage, which is only wrong because other people hurt others over it foolishly!). But of course, not everyone will agree and many will antagonize even furthur. But it's good that some good people are turning around to make things right!

Well homophobia is irrational fear, similar to Arachnophobia. It's irrational fear, for no real reason. I'm not entirely sure if that was the point or not but for those who simply dislike homosexuals or discriminate against them, the more appropriate term is heterosexist

I don't think you can seperate those. Homosexuality is very natural, there's plenty of proof of homosexual animals and those aren't discriminated by their conspecifics - so Homophobia has to be a cultural phenomenon linked to specific milieus (look at those cultures, where transexuals are actually worshipped as "mediator between the sexes") and by this acquired behavior.
This means, there is nothing like an "irrational fear" of homosexuality, just the learned hate of homosexuals (especially endorsed by the Churches) and their fascistic doctrine of (their understatement of) morales.
