Your words were the bullets, trying to take me down, make me feel smaller. But I put their power into becoming better, and bigger. You didn't mean to, but you helped make these wings.Ash is dealing with someone really negative in her life, someone who doesn't believe in her, who doesn't -want- to believe in her. Someone who actually would like to see her fail just so they could say 'told you so'
It hurts when someone like this says things to try and bring you down, but she's using the situation to be a better person. He reaction is equal and opposite, she wants to be a special effect make-up artist for film and TV, and so she channeled her energy into creating this!
Then she cuts that person out her life. Go Ash!
I'm undecided about the style of this... but wanted to try something, so I went for it! But I'm not convinced by it XD
~I have a bit of time off from conventions now, so please expect lots more art from me soon!

Powerful, I love her kinda po'd expression. Good going for your friend. One can choose to embrace the words of the bitter realists around them or they can choose to embrace their dreams. The thing is that by embracing your dreams you aren't necessarily destined to realize them in a manner you expect, sometimes you find something better you hadn't realized. While realists have their place, they also make a choice. They can choose to point out issues and give constructive advice, or they can stroke their own ego with the mantra "I told you so". The trouble is realists don't cleanly fall into one category or the other cleanly, so ultimately one must take realists with a grain of salt and winnow the egotistical chaff from the useful critique.

Can you do a picture of a girl who is about 10 years old and she deals with sadness,depression and abuse but she trys to handle it well so she acts tough but on the inside shes broken and fragile.
I'd love it you would, it would kind of represent my life as a kid.

This piece feels like you pulled out a chunk of my soul and put it on paper. Her expression is perfect. I love how there's still a hint of tears, because no growth comes without pain; but mostly there's strength and defiance. I also like how her wings are literally formed from brokenness: the tragedy and the triumph are two sides of the same coin, and neither is diminished by the other.
And the colors are lovely to boot!

The worst is...nobody but us see it, feel it.
They can make our life a pain.
On the opposite, kind people can help us feel better, and make our life a little better.
Sometime, words feel good.
