Hot coffee. Cold day. Mittens on. Can't feel the cold. Can't feel the heat. Sip a little too early. Burnt tongue. Dammit.I watched a girl do exactly this at a train station, it was so cute, she was geared up against the cold, but because of her mittens she couldn't feel how hot her coffee was, took a sip, made this adorable little 'ouch' face, then just stared at the coffee cup as it if was a lover who just told her it needed a 'break', and chewed her scarf. It was adorable, I'm sorry I stared at you XD
I doodled her then and there (always travel with a sketchbook guys) I didn't expect it to turn into a proper painting, but when I added colour I liked where it was going. It's still a bit rough round the edges, but then maybe it takes after it's creator like that
hehWell she had to be patient in the end, because the train was late XD
The real take home is not about letting you coffee cool before you drink it; but that if you do anything cute in front of me I will draw you!

Negative:
You've already mentioned it's a lil rough round the edges so i'll point out a few bits but not go too harsh as it wouldn't be fair you've pointed out the obvious. Detail is there Hurah!! Maybe a lil too messy? bolder lines probably would of been a better way to go on say the gloves, the star stitches on the gloves, on some of the coat and maybe a bit more time on the back ground closer to the forefront of the piece. Some bits like the bench are slightly warped I know you said it was rough round the edges but these were the main bits i felt maybe could of been a bit more worked on before submitting.
Positive:
Some really good bits are in this piece even if it's not finished to a normal Blue standard The light is just spot on to what i've observed with light and how you make the subject glow is spot on the fact the right side of the piece is just like there has been natural light captured and fused into the piece is pretty outstanding.The water vapour from the coffee is pretty well done maybe a little strong in colour but how it moves and holds itself is pretty spot on. The colour mix all works well, the complexity of the different shapes are well done if not finished, everything seems to be taking on the actual gravitational weight of the real world, the light is almost like a photo, also capturing those little moments in life are somewhat important and the idea of doing this was a great idea!
Summary:
Overall a mainly positive piece due to the skill of the piece but due to lack of time sort of leaves it with plenty to look at in a negative way but it depends on how you look at things to which makes it a win or a lose.
Personal Note:
Personally i like this one due to the idea and the some what rough approach sometimes that can be a good way to go with pieces providing it used in style. Perfection can often make things lose character
