Description
There is a wold, inside yourself, if you stop to look. Nurture and attend to your inner light, and it will grow to a sun, to warm and light your very own universe.
With so much going on outside, it can be really easy to miss the world within ourselves. Whens the last time you paused to listen to what was going on within you? To your own breath and body? All these beautiful sensations we often don't make time for, with so many pressures on us in everyday life, in this busy world, stopping and giving ourselves love and compassion can sometimes seem like a selfish act. It isn't. It's often essential.
I used to think meditation was about taking you some place else in your head, but most of it starts from noticing the sensations in your body, like breathing, and exploring what your experience is moment by moment.
Since coming out of psychiatric hospital, I've incorporated meditation and mindfulness into my everyday life. It does take a lot of effort, practice and work, but it's helped with many aspects of my difficulties, and I'm enjoying the presence and peace it helps bring. My psychiatrist recommended Mark Williams book: Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World, and I, in turn, am recommending it on.

This is so important. Especially when things get hectic around you... to still stop for a second and find your own light, even when you feel like it's diminishing. Only we ourselves can truly turn on the light again, the fire.

ART CRITIQUE

To start off with I going to focus on the body, there seems to be less detail the further down the body you go. There's no belly button, judging from the build her hips or some ribs should just be showing not a whole set maybe just the last two subtly but not in a dangerous sense. It depends on the body type from what i've looked at (not i a perverted way i assure you!) for this kind of build they lack the ribs and hips definition (they always have a belly button) if they have sightly more weight on the stomach above the pelvis making it stick out not because of there's lots fat but because of how the pelvis tucks under also. (this is not a dig at anyones weight or anyone should be thin and to be beautiful you have to be thin i know it it a sensitive subject to any gender and i know how words and conversations about this can be taken the wrong way).
Looking at the inside of the wings the bones on the wings the humerous, radius, and ulna can be create a depression in the skin leading to bumps which would darken and create a shaded area even if lit there would be the edges creating definition (i've spent a lot of time working with birds) The inside of the wings seem to lack some detail if you look at a birds feather of any kind the outside of the feather the side that is usually the top side of the feather when on the wing is smooth and very little detail the underside on a wing which catches the air has a lot of detail and sticking out parts but these aren't shown in the picture. Now light and dark does blur edges and details the light on the tertial feathers is too bright to see detail but further from that light there would be detail coming back in, the primary and secondary feathers move further from the light and would get more detail. This is obviously based on real life but i think incorporated it adds more detail to the picture giving it a bit more depth a bit more solid or maybe even throw the conventional and add a different pattern to it might be able to add extra meaning to the picture.
A lot of your pieces are women it would be good to see more males too not to saying they shouldn't be women at all a mix is always good no matter what the subject, maybe a male and female picture together also pan and transgender too just ideas it would definately push your skills to another level and a different idea and another message. obviously depends on the subject, how you feel about it, is it works in the piece etc.. not saying you're excluding anyone of course. Also on the same thought different builds would be good to look into and different weights maybe adding little scars, moles, freckles, skin flaps, stretch marks, tattoos that don't have anything to do with the main message of the artwork something to maybe look out for in the pictures hidden messages or just something extra to add once again just an idea.
Positive:
The face as always is incredibly good, the solidness of the body, the shape spot on, the lines are good using different techniques, colour matching good, detail to the colour of skin very good, How the wings hold is good you can feel the weight of them good how they sit in the air, the light and glowing always good with colour, intensity, how the light reflects around, the idea is a lil cliche but that can often be good to get a point across and create a bond with it, the detail in the background of the lil specs of colour is a great idea something to look for adds something different adds texture all very good.
Summary:
Over all a great piece in all, maybe something different to add or something different to try and adding more detail but good over all
