...So I can't be hurt again.She gave her heart to someone and they gave it back to her. She's trying to repair the damage, and wants to hide her soul away so no one else will be able to hurt her again.
Second in the seires of drawing of Paige
While creating this, I was also musing on how it mirrored my artistic situation. I put my heart into my drawings and then offer them on the internet for all to scrutinise, it can be really daunting thing. A lot of the stuff I draw is personal and is never seen by anyone else, so I appreciate the overwhelming support I get when I share with you guys. Sometimes you just want to hide away. This piece isn't born of current guy troubles for me (I have a wonderfuly supportive partner) but from discussions with other people about shared experiences... and bleh, other stuff..
Been enjoying exploring this style more, I know it's another portrait, but I wanted to keep it intimate, like the viewer is close with her and feeling what shes feeling.

I almost see it as her sewing her heart shut to hold in the love she feels for someone so she doesn't explode.. Then again, that's just MY situation right now, that usually tends to cloud my thinking when I see things.

This is absolutely wonderful...I know how she feels..I have had my heart closed for so long and still do most the time because i dont want to get hurt..though i have a really good friend that I trust and know she wont hurt me like everyone else has. I love your art its very beautiful and has meaning to it :3 great job

It hurts, when your heart breaks and you have to start all over again . But you stitch it up, and learn to love again with the pieces left. You keep trying and everytime you hope for a happy ending.

What I love about this picture (much like your others) is how much emotion you get just from the eyes of your characters. You can see the hurt in those eyes even without tears. I do find some hope in your picture too, like now that she has her heart again life is pumping back into her body, she will heal over time and become strong again. Also the concept that a stitch is not a permanent repair, so that she may give her heart again when the time is right.
...Then again these could all just be the ramblings of a madman lol

It captures heart break so beautifully :''( how pain just radiates out from the heart, seeping up to your mind to cloud your thoughts, spreading out to your limbs and leaving them sore, and how hard you try to heal yourself. That which used to illuminate you now is the cause of your sickness... absolutely beautiful and the eyes are just so pitifully gorgeous... And the lighting is fabulous! great job!
