Well here I have one last piece for 2011, so HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Sorry for the lack of communication in December, but it\'s been just such a very busy month. Also, ever since Christmas I\'ve been very busy with Skyward Sword. LOL This picture is sort of a fruition of Christmas. I got a bunch of Prime figures for Christmas (though some shown here I\'ve owned for a while already). I also took this pic with my Mom\'s new camera she got for Christmas. I have concluded it is terrible. Next time I take a photo of a TF, it\'ll be with the good camera. I tried to reinact the scene off the TFP DVD cover, obviously minus Ratchet, Soundwave and Eradicons since they\'ve not been released yet. Wish Starscream and Megatron were more visible though.This picture\'s also here to communicate my thoughts on some of the figures.
Optimus is very nice, but I wish his face plate was retractable and he has very ugly heel spur. His alt mode doesn\'t hold together very well either. His robot mode is fantastic though and is worlds ahead of the deluxe.
Cliffjumper, what can I say? He may not be incredibly show accurate, but he\' still a fantastic toy full of character. I can\'t wait to get zombie Cliff and his second release [link] .
Bulkhead is another very cool toy. Though like Cliffjumper, he isn\'t completely show accurate, but it\'s very close. I can\' believe he can transform into a vehicle actually. I just wish his mouth was on a hinge and that he was coloured better in certain areas.
Megatron is probably my favourite deluxe TFP figure, aside from Cliffjumper. He looks pretty spot on to the character model and he\'s very expressive. And for what his alt mode is, I like it. He also has incredible light piping.
I know I didn\'t say comments on some of the figures, but I just felt like mentioning some of my opinions that I thought were remotely worth mentioning. Anyways, again, have a happy new year! May 2012 be a year of "rebirth" instead of the supposed apocalypse. XD

LOL I suppose I do own all the currently released figures (well except for the SDCC Prime, but in my opinion the colouring on the Megs/ Optimus 2 pack is better). Can't wait to see what the rest of the line has in store. Can't wait for Soundwave and I hope we get a Voyager Megs and Breakdown.

...Also, I had a look in my local Tesco for Generations/Prime figures, and do you know what I found? The same DOTM figures I saw 2 months ago. The amount of Bumblebees on those shelves was remarkable!
I want to buy loads of Eradicons, and give them all different names, like Bob, Hank, Steve, Tom, etc...

The only non-movie toys I've seen in my local store recently were RTS Jazz & Tracks.

I wish I cold find Tracks again. The one I got had this horrible scuff on his roof/ chest area which I really wish wasn't there, especially since Tacks' character is so pernicky about his appearance. LOL
Ahhh... a sbstitute for Botcon. If only I could go to the actual thing too. Especially this year. It's not as good as the TFA set, but I'd definitely like to own that Overlord (even though I don't really think Bludgeon's mold suits Overlord in robot mode). I REALLY want the SG Soudwave too and Metalhawk.

All of the Tracks figures have been cleared out as well, so I can't buy one of those either...
I wanted to go to BotCon this year, but it's in April, and I'm still in school in April...Still, the set this year looks pretty cool. I'm also not crazy about Overlord's robot mode (but I can't really think of a better mold, considering they're apparently not using Unicron Trilogy figures), but SG Soundwave is going to be RIGHTEOUSLY AWESOME, and I'm interested to see what they do with Metalhawk.

Silverbolt would have been a good choice for Overlord I think. His tank, face and colours are great, but that robot, mode, it's just not him unfortunately.
I wonder if they'll give Soundwave his awesome headband?

Hmmm...Silverbolt would make a pretty good Overlord. I mean, he could have the jet mode, but retain his robot-mode colours...Fans probably would have raged about the backpack, though.
It would be awesome if they could somehow give Soundwave his headband- maybe they could sculpt it, or maybe they could use actual fabric...

I actually think the back pack looks pretty nice on the figure, but I could see how some people would get annoyed about it.
It'd be pretty sweet if it was actual fabric, but perhaps they'll mold it with that maleable plastic like the kind that forms DOTM Crankcase's dreads. Either way I'm sure he'll be an awesome toy, I just hope they fix the mold so his head won't be looking down like Ironhide's.

Thew [link] has converted me to the backpack- it makes for a simple transformation & a lot of cool articulation. It is a bit of lazy engineering, but the designers could say they were trying to go for G1 accuracy.
Hm...the malleable plastic seems like a good idea. Or maybe they could get a piece of wire, and loop some rubbery plastic around it...
Soundwave is going to be EPIC. And, yeah, they'll have to fix his head. Soundwave is not one for looking sadly at his toes.

Ah Thew, one of the most entertaining reviewers out there. I agree, the presence of the backpack definitely allows the body to be way more G1 accurate.
If only I could get my hands on Soundwave. He's definitely the coolest SG character in more ways than one. I just love the concept of his personality in juxtaposition to his G1 counterpart. I hope in the Botcon comic they get to meet.

Maybe they're using the Silverbolt mold for someone else; my friend did a pretty cool digibash of Silverbolt as Metalhawk ([link] )...
And Thew is brilliant- I drew a picture of him as a Transformer on my page.
SG Soundwave and G1 Soundwave meeting would be epic. Imagine a fight between the two!

Yeah, saw that digibash the other day, though I'm hoping they'll use Cyclonus as his base mold. I've seen some pretty cool kitbashes of him with that mold.
Definitely would be cool to see both fight! Wonder what the opinion of each other would be like?

Yeah, Metalhawk would probably look better with the Cyclonus mold. His robot mode in the Wings of Honor comics looks almost identical to Cyclonus...
SG Soundwave would say something like "You've got no groove, man" while G1 Soundwave would just be confused.

I've just seen it now. The proportions are very off... I think if the faceplate had been a little shorter, and the eyes were yellow, it would have looked OK. Ah well, looks like I'm not going to be using up too much of my money, unless the rest of the set is spectacular, or I decide to kitbash my own Soundwave from a Universe Ratchet.

Yeah, I agree exactly about the flaws. His head is just too long. His eyes look weird too. Unfortunately, it seems he's even miscoloured in certain parts of the body. I also hear that the only way to get his headband is go to the collector's store at Botcon, so if you bought the figure off ebay, chances are he wouldn't have it or you'd have to pay a heck of a lot more. It'd be really nice if they could fix his flaws.

Yeah, I noticed that his torso should be blue, and his legs should be white, but they're the other way around.
If the headband they're selling is just a piece of fabric, or is too expensive, I'll pass. It would probably be a lot easier to cut some fabric and make a headband...

I think the whole thing's crazy.To bad they couldn't just restart with Soundwave. I wonder whose idea it was to make that horrid head? You know, people on ebay will sell the headband separately and charge an arm and a leg to buy it too.
Also I'm hearing that they may use Thunderwing as Metalhawk. I don't know about you, but I don't really think it fits.

Perhaps the head was engineered to help it look up- I'm really not sure why it doesn't match the artwork, which is pretty cool. Maybe a third-party company can make a better head...
It would be pretty surreal if people were selling a small strip of fabric for enormous amounts of money!
I don't think Thunderwing as Metalhawk fits either- the mold is a bit too monstrous and "Decepticon-y" to me. Also, he'd be really short compared to Overlord!

Yeah, Thunderwing isn't "heroic" enough to be Metalhawk and like you said, way too short. Cyclonus would be perfect for looks and height relative to Overlord.
I heard from Seibertron that they're going to make Octopunk from HFTD Seaspray with an awesome new head mold. This really intrigues me. I hope the rumour is true.

I'm not that miffed about the headband, but the scalpers would be a problem. There are loads of easy ways someone could improvise a headband,so human ingenuity could defeat those pesky scalpers!
I really hope the rumour about Metalhawk isn't true. I mean, his WoH form is a dead ringer for Cyclonus, and Cyclonus' jet & robot modes are sleeker than Thunderwing's, whose design is generally bulkier and more "evil".
I've just had a look at the rumoured other toys; they look pretty interesting.
Seaspray as Octopunch sounds like a cool idea-the Seaspray mold already has the harpoons, air tanks and flippers, so a diver's helmet would complete the motif! Jazz as Treadshot is a little confusing, especially since he has a gun on his chest, and is apparently based on a gun-former. Surely Warpath would make more sense? I really like the idea of Junkions in Insecticon colours- I always imagined them in Sweep colours, but Insecticon colours also make sense. SG Swindle is an interesting choice, which uses one of my favourite CHUG molds. I wonder who the cat'll be- Maybe Blackcat or Howlback?

Yeah some of the rumoured toys seem a bit odd. Kind of wish it was Classics Swindle instead, I bet it would look really cool with a new head. If the SG Junkions are true, that'd be great!

I made a comic a while back, with Wreck-Gar in TFA Oil Slick colours. After drawing and colouring it, I realised that both Junkions and Sweeps were mustachioed clone armies! With a bunch of other people, I also came up with the idea of the Junkions quoting from various pieces of literature...
Maybe FP will be able to pull Jazz as Treadshot off somehow; maybe it'll be based on a redeco of Armada Sideswipe called Treadshot- he was connected to Armada Ultra Magnus...

Yep, they're all out her in my corner of Canada. LOL Which is nice because we never get anything new until months and months after the initial release. I've only seen them at Toys R Us so far though, not anywhere else unfortunately.

That is because First Editions are Toys R US Exclusives. We will see them in other stores when they are in their different packaging and part of the different line.
