Description
If we could break down those walls to set you free, we would cause we out here, and we miss you.If we could build a ladder that tall to come up and see you, we would cause we down here, and we miss you.
(Lupe Fiasco - Free Chilly lyrics)

This is photo was taken by my sister during her vacation on Mauritius. I was like, wow what an awesome shot you did there! Changed the whitebalance, added some contrast to the sky and fixed the sharpeness.
Hope you enjoy her result as much as i do!
P.S.: Before leaving a stupid "omg its a manip"-comment, check THIS HERE first, thanks.

great work
simple fixes regarding contrast, sharpness, light etc. can't ever count as photo manipulating...that is just dumb

Although I've never seen such a beautifullly located tree and spot of grass, this quite an entrancing image... I can imagine myself sitting on that grass, enjoying the gloomy weather, feeling the mist and cool breeze blow across me... as long as the weather doesn't get too bad.
Enjoy. btw, looks real to me...
And besides, I know that you, like me, are against major photoshop edits and that you take pride in your work.
I know I do
Enjoy.

this is really cool!
I read your journal, and now that I look at it, it really doesn't look like it's a manip.
it was probably high tide or something.

I can't help but get the feeling that the island is in a sort of "me against the world" sort of mood.
Such a little thing - the island.
Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL shot. I love it.

yes, i agree, well, it is, in technical terms, a photo-manipulation, because you literally manipulated the photo.
But i do the same thing, you only changed some balances and sharpness to enhance the quality of the photo.
I applaud you, this is a beautiful shot
i wish i could do stuff like this

I like to think of photoshop as my digital darkroom, as long as I don't get too rampant with it.
In a darkroom with film, you could go and make those changes as well.

Every photography would then be a photo-manipulation, in digital or in traditional dark room or even in an automatic minilab as everything there is adjustments of levels, contrast...?
The fact of taking a picture would be already be a photo-manipulation? As the choice of film, speed, aperture, sensibility (everything that makes the shot) will alter the result of the shot, so the image and the interpretation of the reality in front of the camera.
