Description Some not as quick art.

The Cinderskin is a frighteningly intelligent hunter native to a perpetually decaying environment. Like the skimmer (www.deviantart.com/darksack100… ) its outer layer is constantly flaking off as its exposed surfaces decay to the very atmosphere of its territory. Unlike the Skimmer, this higher-level organism has a denser, less fluid hide and incorporates many non-organic compounds into its body, rendering it far more resilient to the realm's deteriorating effects. Furthermore, the Cinderskin has found a way to use these malignant energies to its advantage, absorbing them and safely containing their destructive energies within a complicated chain of inert crystalline "organs." This condensed decay can then be released in a blast from the focusing apparatus on its head, bathing an enemy in a red spotlight that rips their atoms to pieces. Many think of them as sapient conduits to the hateful presence of their home, as they tend to express great joy in the pain they inflict, and have a vested interest in spreading their diseased environment further into the realms beyond.

Cinderskin function outside their native home without difficulty, but cannot harness any destructive energies to replenish what they use to fuel their "cone of destruction." This leaves them with very limited use of their signature weapon, and only their armor, bulk, and claws beyond that - formidable weapons, but far short of what they can muster in their birthplace. Due to their intelligence, they frequently opt to scout lands just beyond their own, storing a share of their home's energy in their organ chambers that can be replenished upon revisitation.

Cinderskin regenerate much more slowly than Skimmers, but still heal most near-fatal wounds within a day or two. Due to their tough skin and carapace, they are much more difficult to damage at all.
