probably wouldn't have drawn so many mangos otherwise

jokes aside, i ended up adoring mangosteen the most out of all the casino bosses, mostly because of how my headcanon for him developed. i knew for awhile that i wanted to make him the final staff member, but i found it kind of boring to write him as just as pissed off as everyone else. thus was born my favorite trope, the casual nihilist. now there is an art to getting this kind of character right, and whether i achieved it or not mango quickly became the vehicle for ExG's thesis, as it were. i find all of the casino bosses utterly void of meaning outside their intended purpose in the game, and even with the heaping backstory i gave everyone not much of it really matters. cuphead and mugman don't know them, and they're too far gone to get any closure with dice. and mango's the only one there who kind of "gets" that, despite his eccentricities.

anyway, the next chapter of ExG should come by thursday! since, y'know, chapter thirteen came out a day late thanks so much for your continued patience and support, and have a lovely day!
