Well, Notch recently said that the texture of a creeper would feel like "crunchy, dry leaves". So who knows what they'd really look like. This artwork is impressive nonetheless.

Damn, most people show creepers as plant-like or insectoid, but these ones wouldn't look out of place with a mauled tyrannosaurus rex underfoot, very good work!
