"Skoorpius, the dominant inhabitant of Drearion. Pretty much similar to your everyday scorpion, except that they're about seven meters long on average and extrude spider silk. Their venom is rumored to have killed almost everything else on the planet, including plants. They feed on the remains of dead plants and other decaying matter. Their silk is said to be invisible during the night, trapping wandering travelers and even spaceships that fly too low. Skoorpii devour these trapped creatures on sight. They enjoy fresh meat.
Despite their power, the Skoorpius population has declined over the recent years due to lack of food. Their numbers have decreased to hundreds.

I look down into the crater to find a Skoorpius. It's all alone. I've read somewhere that they live in nests. Maybe this one lost its family. I almost feel sorry for it.
