Actually, Photoshop CS- CS2 runs flawlessly on Wine. You can even install it directly from CD, with minimal amount of effort. It doesn't look very pretty, all the win2000-esque borders and buttons, but it works as good as it does on Windows. Way better then GIMP.. for the moment.

Wine really makes linux the best of both worlds. Stability of a mac, software-base of windows, and customizability of... well... linux. XD

I was just trying to say that there is no problems with running the slightly older versions through wine. I dont intend to start Photoshop vs GIMP war. I'm just curious why you don't wish to run it under wine.

Way better than GIMP?
I find myself a good "home-made" drawer with GIMP.
I do the same things I did in Photoshop.. I don't need four-colour printing or things like that, til now
And, surely, I don't chain myself in developing my abilites with a closed and high-cost software.

If I could comments, this one would have gone in

GIMP can do lots of things for an average user, and can even be a replacement of Photoshop in one or two Studios
