Description Ezra yawned and groaned.  He looked at the clock.  Seven a.m.  He cursed.  Yet, he remembered that he and Hiro had a doctor’s appointment at nine a.m.  He sighed sadly as he looked at Hiro who was still asleep in his arms.  He stroked his husband’s cheek.

The doctor’s appointment wasn’t for either him or Hiro.  It was for their five-year-old daughter – Jaina.  Jaina was severely sick with Leukemia.  This was the beginning of Jaina’s chemotherapy and Ezra and Hiro were scared to death.  They prayed to the Force that it was going to work.

Once downstairs and ready, Ezra and Hiro saw their beloved daughter eating breakfast that their caretaker – Jack Frost had made.  Jack was quite fond of Jaina. He was fond of all children, but Jaime and Jaina were extra special to him.

“Are you ready, Sweetie?” Hiro asked Jaina.

“Yes, Mama,” Jaina smiled weakly.

“Okay.  Let’s go,” Hiro grabbed Jaina’s coat.  He kissed Ezra goodbye.  He wished Ezra would come with him, but Ezra just couldn’t.  He knew Ezra couldn’t stand it. Then again, Hiro couldn’t either, but respected Ezra’s wishes anyway.  He drove him and Jaina towards the hospital.

“You son of a bitch!” Zeb growled at Ezra.  “Woah, Zeb, calm down,” Kanan tried.  “I know Ezra loves his daughter very much, but he DOES have his Jedi training.”  “If he loves his daughter so much,” Zeb continued.  “Then, why doesn’t he go with her and Hiro.”  “Zeb,” Kanan began.  “Every individual will handle things their way. Now, please, give Ezra a break.  He’s given YOU a lot of breaks.  It’s time you do the same as well.”  “Fine,” Zeb grumbled.  “I’ll do this for Jaina and Hiro, but not for Ezra.”  “Either way is fine,” Kanan concluded.  “Just remember your friendship with Ezra.  He’ll still need all the support he can have.”

Later that evening while Jaina was asleep at the hospital, Tadashi Hamada, walked quietly inside.  He smiled when he saw his baby brother asleep in a chair beside Jaina’s bed.  He placed a hand on Hiro’s left shoulder waking him up.  “Hello, baby brother,” Tadashi whispered gently.

Hiro choked a sob and hugged his older brother tightly.
