That was Cherry's life when he was born in a tribe that is now long gone. His tribe ran on very strict rules and honor, they lived far from empires therefore making their presence unknown to them but to the natives they were much aware of this tribe and its culture.

The tribe was mainly known for its gorgeous red lions that became of high value to humans. Now its unknown why their tribe came out with this color, but its said that Cherrys great grandmother is the reason.

Cherry's tribe ran on a hierarchy, like natural lions, females stayed and males once they reach within age must leave, but here’s the difference. They were always able to come back once they accomplished their quest that was sent by the elder females.

Cherry was lucky enough to be born of high status with his sister, Mari. While they were treated with high respect it also meant his mother and father expected more from the small cubs. They expected them to be level headed, clever, strict. As after all, Cherry will take his fathers place, his sister will take on as head female, as the ‘queen’ spot was reserved for the future mate of the male cub.

Yeah- so, strict rules, royalty, all that stuff- and soon enough, well, Cherry reached that age where he would have to go on his own quest, well, before that Cherry had a bit of a fight with his father- you see, Cherry was seen as too soft and kind by his father, which lead to a fight that very quickly got physical, which was stopped by his mother. So, his ‘goodbye’ when he went off for his quest wasn't exactly a goodbye at all. More so a ‘good riddance’ Well, from his father at least, his sister gave a proper goodbye. His dear sister, he had such a strong connection to the lioness, she would always brighten his day with witty behavior and her clumsy personality, so of course when Cherry went off on his quest he stopped by and in secret would visit his sister. This went on until he was 2 years old, as he left when he was 1. Then Cherry had to really go, as his quest required him to go beyond the land of his tribe.

…Remember when I said red lions were of high value to the native humans that lived on the land? Well, I meant their coat.

On the 3rd of April, Cherry was rushing home as he had heard the news of his home being invaded, over time the population of red lions went down due to the mass hunting for their coat, and this day is when their home caught fire. The humans set it ablaze to flush out the lions, using their own cats to track and hunt the ones trapped. Cherry rushed into the flames in hope of saving his family, receiving a terrible burn on his head in doing so. Well, he found his family, and he was too late, his mother and father gone… but wait, where was his sister? As he worried, he did not realize his exit was blocked by the flames, and realizing he was now trapped, he accepted his fate, but just as the smoke began to reach his lungs, he heard a voice- he looked up to see… his sister ! and she had an exit ! Rushing towards her, they raced out of the plains, seeing his sister run beside him filled him with memories as when they were cubs, and as they reached out of the burning flames, he turned around to thank his sister- but… she wasn't there. Where has she gone?! Was it all his imagination? A ghost perhaps? Where was his sister?!

…

days have passed and Cherry has made a burial for his family, in hopes their souls reach the afterlife, but he must go on to live… alone in this world. Cherry had traveled far from his land, in hopes to forget the traumatizing sight of his burning home. He had traveled long and ran into many obstacles, but eventually he reached the shadow empire. He introduced himself as Cherry, despite that not being his real name. But rather the name his sister called him. Cherry hoped that he would establish himself as the gentle, calm, and kind soul that would grant him the role of keeper.
