Description

{From the file of Dr. Gilman. PHD in psychology and employee/corporation relations. File is record and audio transcript of the visit from Property # 593723 in compliance with the Doctor/Employer Disclosure Act indicating that medical and psychological records can be shared to management if employee may be a threat to production.}

Name: Doctor Hal Gilman
Property information: Employee Property number 593723 named Christopher Norman, and potentially his alter ego [REDACTCED]

Reason for submission: Concerns that Mr. Norman showing signs that he may be regressing back to his alter ego, colloquially titled [REDACTED] Need monitoring and possible medical supression.

I spoke with Mr. Norman today who was expressing doubts about his place at work. He seemed concerned that he may be having unproductive thoughts. He confessed to having a “panic attack” two days ago. I tried to reassure him that there is no such thing. That a panic attack is just the mind making an excuse to not focus on your duties. He seemed uncertain. The dosage of emotional suppressants I prescribed to him after his episode doesn't seem to be as effective as would a normal person, but I fear a higher concentration may cause the property to expire.

The following is a transcript of a recorded session as evidence of my concern. I am referred as subject B and Mr. Norman is A.

(silence 2 minutes 39 seconds.)

A: Someone died in the office yesterday.
B: Unfortunate.

(silence 45 seconds)
A: He was in my cubicle. He hadn't slept much and was on....coffee or something. He just slumped over and died.
B: I am not sure if one can overdose on coffee.
A: I reported his passing to my manager but they couldn't get the corporate coroner up for a while. I worked next to a dead body for six hours.
B: Why are you telling me this? Did it distract you from your duties?

(silence 37 seconds)

B: Christopher.
A: Hmm?
B: Why did it matter to you?
A: I just thought....

(silence 22 seconds)

A: I took my bathroom break after they picked up the body. But....I just broke down and cried.
B: That's not what bathroom breaks are for.
A: I know. I....I guess I need more....I don't know

(silence 21 seconds)

B: Have you been having thoughts about him?
A: Barry?
B: Who's Barry?
A: The.... the deceased.
B: I wasn't referring to Barry. Have you been thinking about [REDACTED]
A: Don't say his name.....Please.....

(silence 11 seconds)

A: Yes.
B: He's dangerous you know. Not just for your reputation but for our society as a whole.
A: I know...I know. I just feel...I felt.....Maybe its wrong. Maybe we should be worried when someone dies at work ...or why they died.
B: Barry died because he didn't follow the regulations.
A: It's just when I was him....you know....I felt like.... there is more than work.
B: Deviancy only lands you to unemployment. You need to fight the urge to....think so wildly. Listen to your management. To the company. They know what's best for you.
A: Do they?

(silence 1 minute 57 seconds)

A: I'm sorry.
B: I'm going to prescribe you a higher dose of Exoculin. Maybe next time you “feel” something. Just think about your duties.
A: Ok doctor. I'll try.
