I had seen a small plastic figurine of a rust monster when I was younger, though I didn't know its actual name until recently. I could've also sworn I had seen a rust monster on the Matt Groening sci-fi sitcom Futurama, but then it looked like some sort of lobster-like creature. Because of which, I had assumed the rust monster was some prehistoric or sci-fi lobster or perhaps a crustacean. But hey, it's cool (your drawing that is), and I have plans to do my own rust monster sketch with the help of a few references from my old D&D Monster Manuals (I have three old ones in my book collection). Still, when I first saw a rust monster, it reminded me of a lobster, but sans the claws.
