OK< I don't know why Ego seems to be showing up everywhere lately, but I love it. That's the kind of ridiculousness I don't mind seeing in comics now and then, especially a DP book.
I love the way you handled the texture and shading. It all defines the form very nice and naturally. I'm not a huge fan of the hatching brush you used towards the bottom where it fades to white. It looks more tell-tale digital and less organic than the stuff you did by hand above. Great piece though!

Well, first off, it's not Ego, it's his asshole brother. Second, the white hatch is 100% by hand, done on the cintiq. Maybe I just rocked it too hard, haha.

Ha! I didn't even realized Ego had a brother, but if one is named "Ego" and he's NOT the asshole, that says a lot. Taking a second look at the white hatching, I do see some irregularity of hand-hatching. I don't know what it is then...something about it just doesn't jive with the rest of the piece in my opinion (which means very little). I love it as a whole, don't get me wrong.
